I like a medium thick patty of ground chuck seasoned with several drops of worchestershire & soy sauce. Then add onion powder, garlic powder, & black pepper and let them sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Grill over a hickory fire (or charcoal with hickory chunks) and serve on a toasted bun with mustard, lettuce, pickles, and very thinly sliced onion.

80/20 chuck, one egg, half a slice of bread torn into little pieces, garlic salt, chopped onion or onion powder if you don't like pieces, dash of garlic powder, and whatever bbq sauce you like.

Mix it all up like a meat loaf and toast the buns. I also like to top with sweet vidalia onions, lettuce, and a good mild cheddar, but they are great alone too.

I use a Cajun seasoning like a dry rub and Hienz 57 sause in the meat when im making the patty, the thicker the better. sweet onion ,tomato, and pickles are a must.then you can garnish with cheese, bacon, what ever makes you Happy.

I use a pretty lean ground chuck, sometimes ground round, salt, pepper, garlic. You can add diced onions to the meat if you want. I love to add avocados or mushrooms. Any cheese is gr8. I use a tiny bit of red leaf lettuce or romaine, thin slice tomatoes and tons of super thin sliced onions. I try to get a small hamburger bun so i can taste everything inside....toasted is the best!

keep it basic. flatten out the patty by wrapping in wax paper and drop a cast iron on it.
season with salt/pepper for at least 30 minutes.
put on grill.

toppings? i have used everything from eggs, black beans, avacado, etc. i like a sharp blue cheese at times, put on the bottom bun for a change in taste.

Never heard of pickle salt. Sounds good. I'll have to find some and give it a try. This whole thread has made me hungry. Time to go to the store for some burger meat (gotta try grinding up brisket, too)!

I was watching one of the cooking channels Today where they featured some place that made their burgers with the cheese and diced Japs cooked in the middle of the pattie. I've never tried this but it looked awesome. Has Anyone here ever tried that and how did it turn out?

This is one of my own with shop ingredients.
Kiwi Burger
1. Place frozen Original Steakhouse Cheese Burgers on a preheated lightly oiled grill or hot plate, barbecue over a moderate heat for 4 minutes on each side.
Cut each burger in half.
Grill pineapple rings and toast rolls on barbecue.
Spread mayonnaise on rolls place lettuce in each roll and layer 2-3 tomato slices, burgers, grilled pineapple and coleslaw.
Serve immediately.

2 lbs 80/20 Chuck in a large bowl mix in lipton onion soup mix, 1 egg, progresso italian bread crumbs(or crumble a few saltine crackers), tsp water and a couple splashes of worchershire sauce. mix it all evenly & form into balls and pat it out into a nice patty. get your grill hot I use hickory wood chunks and they really smoke the meat well then when they are almost done I take the top off my pit and let the flames kiss the burgers on both sides. I always toast my buns and cut up fresh lettuce tomato and onion. I add cheese to about half the burgers on the grill because soem want the cheese and some just want that smoky beef burger flavor. These burgers are delicious.

I get the pre cooked burgers.
Microwave the patties for 2 minutes.
Toast the bun in the toaster.
Shedd spread on the bun, Kraft single on the patty, patty on the bun.
3 minutes from freezer to mouth.

80/20 or 85/15 prefer large patties that i form
myself. While preparing i lightly cook some bacon the tear it to pieces and combine it to the beef, add mccormick steak seasoning and old bay seasoning to taste with a little worchestrshire sauce. Put on the grill, to medium, toast buns, add favorite chz, then put lettuce, tomato, mustard on it. The wife likes avacado added.
