Blues are biting well! Was fishing alone and never had time to get all rods out. All were caught in about 5' water using cut shad! Nothing big but perfect eaters..biggest went about 14....

It's probably been close to 15 years for me too.. Use to fish it when we skipped class back in college.. (Business Math vs. fishing.. You can guess which one usually won out!)

It went dry, but filled again in 2002. But the blues are thriving!

I can remember back in the day when that lake was full of catfish, and used to watch tpwd go out there with their shocker boat and load up with yella cats for stocking in other lakes.

It used to have a ton of carp in it as well..

I spent many, many days at Lake Kirby.

I was out Friday, had a great day also. Kept about 10 eaters, biggest was 8 lbs. Just drifting South-North. Everyone I spoke to had a great stringer.

I think that campping isnt allowed but they arent gonna come run you out of there if your fishing at 4 am...so it really makes no sense...as long as you dont pitch a tent you'll be fine

Smoky- i fish white river and alan henry but the fishing just isnt that great.

I was pulling my boat out at about 12:30 a couple of weeks ago on a Thurs night, I think, and a cop was driving around running people off. I saw one again the next week. BUt those are the only two times in the last year I have seen anyone been run off. I've been out until 2 am several times and every time, I was not the last person there. Not mayn boats out that late, but usually some college kids doing no telling what and some fisherman. There are lots of people that fish all night. I may be out late this Fri if the winds cooperate. Got run off the water Sat morning by winds gusting over 30. My 14 foot tri hull just aint built for that. Need me a box anchor too I guess.
