When you tie a Palomar knot both lines that go through the eyelet MUST be side by side and not crossed. If they cross, the knot will break.
exactly...ive found that if the lines cross at any point during tying a palomar..your running risk of breakage.

Have you ever tried braid for the main line? It works great, especially in terms of feel. It is more forgiving knot wise as well.

I never have the problems others have with the palomar knot. Not sure what folks are doing to have problems with it. Build the leader with swivel and hook first and you can tie a palomar on all three knots.

put a rubber bobber stopper above the not and then get after it brother. I started putting a carolina keeper just above my main line knot to keep the weight off my knot. This has greatly reduced my break offs. I use 20 floro main line and leader. 1 oz lead weight.

Go to a Braided line for your main line. This will solve a lot of the issues and is even more sensitive.
