I was on my way home from wal-mart tonight and saw this beast pulling into the hotel parking lot here in Greenville! Not sure if any of you guys watch the show "Storm Chasers", but this is the TIV, and out hoped the Storm Chasers crew ready to get a little sleep before the storms roll in early in the morning! They have traveled almost 2000 miles in the last week chasing the storms that ripped thru here and moved east toward Mississippi, and Alabama! Pretty neat to see this, but also makes you a little leary..if the storm chasers are in town, then things might be getting ready to get dangerous!

You should have slapped some Crappie decals on that chasing machine!

Awesome John. I wonder if that thing squats down and then those spikes deploy in the ground to hold it in place?

Yes Bobby, those armored sheilds on the side, front, and back, are hydraulic and slide down to the ground..at that point, the 2 hydraulic spears on the sides of the TIV, anchor into the ground! In the event they cannot get out of the storm, they just anchor down and hang on! What a cool job!

Looks like power poles on the side to anchor it down in the wind
