Those are some chunks for Drop Shotting fish wow. In California you're lucky to snag a fish over 4 on a DS lol.

Nice fish Guys, I kind of know my way round the D/S rig on Fork,
won a little money with it here and there--not to call B/S on anyone but if you had TEN fish over the slot in one day---you is the man.
I've never had more than two on my best day. Congrats on a banner, once in a lifetime good day--well done thumb

Nice job to the original poster!!

The guy who caught 10 overs better not stand outside for fear of getting struck by lightening! Close their mouth next time you measure them.

Very nice fish! When I read this I thought of Bass Johnson, he is a ds king!! Good job!
The 10 over's did get my attention also! Not sure I have ever heard of anyone hitting 10 over's! But that would be a day to remember! I have had a few days where I caught a lot of 22-23 but never loaded up on the 24's. But they are there!
I'm counting on Bass Johnson to teach me some ds this year! Always wanted to fish it in the summer, but I've never even learned how to tie the hook right!
Very nice fish again, congrats!!

10 overs on Fork is completely doable. We were wacky rigging jigs on a shakey head off windy points last week and had a dozen overs in the boat by sunrise. Its all in the wrist. If you can't impart the correct action, you'll never get the hook-up. They'll be so hooked up, you may need your pliers to get the hooks out.

By the way, I'm guiding now. Hit me up if you want to learn the Carolina Rig, anything about fishing frozen minnows, or using your on-board CB radio.

i think a lot of us have caught 22-23" bass during the day. thats fun by any means, and beats anywhere I have ever fished- but it breaks your heart during a tournament. and if they are not measured correctly, then we could all say we caught many overs during the day.

Before this trip we hadn't fished a DS much at all, only a few times with a vertical deep water presentation. Been hearing that the bite was on up shallow we figured it was time.

Started about 9:00am on the south side of the lake and started catching fish immediatley! We caught fish in every cove we fished, the fish were really easy to pattern. Had 30+ fish on the day with the biggest around 7.5lb, our best 5 unders would easily go 10lb.

Needless to say we both go comfortable fishing a DS! He used a bait caster and I used a spinning rod and we both hammered em. We never put the DS down, even though they aren't supposed to catch big fish!!
Below are photos of are biggest 2. Feel free to PM me if you want any specifics on where and how.

7.5 by far my biggest fish on spinning rod/reel... pulled drag like no other!

cousin Rob, he was the brains behind the game plan smile

Pm me some time we should set up a time to go out to fork and I'll show you some really great DS techniques you' ll double that # on what I will teach you

I'm a tournament fisherman east texas mainly and I never go into a tournament without a DS rig tied on the last time I went out to fork I boated 40 fish 10 overs and the rest were unders and slots fished from 7 am til dark

That's nothin. I boated at least 15 overs one time at Lake Arlington.
