@Fishing is Fun - no problem. Us bank fishing guys have to stick together!
@Reaper - thanks for the CL spot!! I'll get it on the map. Would be helpful to know what species you're catching at this spot.
Everyone else - Need to hear more from those of you that fish that part of the state!

OK, no problem. I could assume what people could expect to catch, but I've tried to make all entries as accurate as possible in terms of location, species, etc. If anyone has fished the location and has first hand information, let me know. In the meantime, I've added the spot to the map - fist on CL! Woot! On another topic. I've been kicking around some ideas for taking the map to the next level, perhaps adding additional features, possibly to include information like camping info, guide information, etc. I'm interested in hearing any thoughts from users on features/functionality that they'd like to see, including usability features that would improve navigation on the site, etc.If you have any suggestions, please post them here.

Hey Kitty,
Here's a spot in Columbus that I scouted out and found some small river Guads. Its a also a launching point for canoes and kayaks.

I forget the name of the park. The water was stained to clear. It seems pretty nice to also go in with waders, but the current may be too strong.

Hey guys...new to the site and i stumbled upon this earlier. Great idea KittyWomper!!!!!!
I'm from Southeast Texas, about 30 mins east of Beaumont, in Orange! I am an avid bank fisher, so I thought I would share some spots.
Note: Most are Saltwater or Brackish water.
LNVA Salt Water Barrier (Beaumont, Tx) -Brackish water, stocked ponds before you get to barrier, restrooms, -Ponds w/trout, river for redfish/drum and cats -Not a great part of town!!
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=neches+river+salt+water+barrier&hl=en&ll=30.154136,-94.115506&spn=0.00436,0.009602&t=h&z=17
Lake Street/Old Ferry Road (Bridge City, Tx)BAIT and FISH -Saltwater,Piers for crabbing (great saltwater bait!), Fish where waterway meets Old River Cove, Popping cork for small reds and good sized trout -Follow curve to bridge. Bridge is usually crowded but yields good sized reds
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Lake+Street,+Bridge+City,+TX&hl=en&ll=30.003669,-93.84573&spn=0.017467,0.038409&sll=29.991497,-93.849635&sspn=0.008735,0.02738&z=15
Pleasure Island Pier (Port Arthur, Tx) -Saltwater -Recently remodeled, Lighted, RV Park, Restrooms -Avoid baitshop across highway, Castnet for bait near pier (watch rocks) -Pier gets crowded, get there early to get a spot -Fish end of pier for larger reds, drum, gafftop, trout. Fish near 2-story pier for small reds, large spec. and sand trout. -Popping cork with live or fresh dead shrimp, small baitfish
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=SGS+Causeway+Bait+%26+Tackle,+T+B+Ellison+Parkway,+Port+Arthur,+TX&hl=en&ll=29.763651,-93.897829&spn=0.004377,0.009602&sll=29.765681,-93.896585&sspn=0.016578,0.038409&z=17
Clam Lake Road (Sabine Pass, Tx) -Saltwater -Piers for crabbing-BAIT -Fish at first bridge (either side), large Redfish, Drum, Spec. Popping cork with live shrimp, Gulp! artificial (shrimp, 3-4 in. any color) -Road is rough and rocky -Part of McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge -Can not enter after dark (DO NOT TRY/SPIKE STRIP)
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Clam+Lake,+TX&hl=en&ll=29.681789,-94.078588&spn=0.035047,0.076818&sll=29.683281,-94.070177&sspn=0.035047,0.076818&z=14
Jetty Road/Texas Bayou (Sabine Pass, Tx) -Saltwater -Lots of places to fish along road once you pass Coast Guard Station -Need truck to access far end of road (best fishing) -All saltwater species, Mostly redfish -End of road is very shallow, popping cork/topwaters
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Jetty+Road,+Port+Arthur,+TX&hl=en&ll=29.691091,-93.843069&spn=0.008761,0.019205&sll=29.704698,-93.852468&sspn=0.00876,0.019205&z=16
I hope these spots help and get added soon. Most of these spots will yield nice sizes and numbers of fish. All of these areas have tons of places to bank fish. Just explore a little : )
Most importantly; watch the tides, use topwaters and popping corks, make sure you have plenty of gas, bait and plenty of be...i mean water : )

@SETexasTitan - great spots! Thanks for putting the Beaumont area on the map! I'll get these posted right away. Also, to everyone on this thread. If you haven't seen it already, I just started a new group on Twitter. It's called TXFishingRpts. The idea is to use social media (Twitter) to post live fishing reports. It's a new group, so it doesn't have a lot of followers yet, but as the number of followers increases, so will the activity. My objective is to have hundreds of followers and fishing reports coming in live from all over Texas. To use it, you might make a posting like this example: "Killing the Sandies on #Lewisville in 20' of water on blue/silver Kastmasters". The "#" or Hashtag in front of the name of the lake will make it easy to find reports on the lake you are interested in. So, add yourself as a follower and get in on the action!
