Heard a lot about this technique and the good results it produces so I decided to give it a try last night on Canyon Lake since I never had a good fishing trip there. The result...SKUNKED Tried two spots where I caught white bass before and left the light in for about an hr each spot. First spot got a bunch of minnows but nothing like the big balls I've seen in videos. Plus mostly were tiny with only a handful of bigger ones. Saw a very small fish circling around for a while feeding but that's it. Second spot was a lot worse. Third spot was not looking very promising after 30 min so went home.
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

In prior years I've had great luck using a green light and live bait to catch sandbass at night. Been out 3 times at night on RC this year. Grand total of 1 fish per trip. Not sure what the difference is. Saturday night I had so many shad under me that my depth finder was losing bottom. Back to day fishing for me.

Kubroe, I kill them or RC till about the end of June. I cannot get them once the water gets hot. Have tried many spots at night there but no avail. Try again next spring!

I fish with green lights all summer long and never get skunked. make sure your not fishing below the thermocline. I tend to use minnows and buy 2 different sizes. make sure you are using 10-12lb test. its nothing for me to have a 200 fish night. and no I usually release all fish.
