Looks like the trip is coming together well!

Some time in the next week we will need to decide what all to bring for cooking. I don't know what all Cast n Stay has to offer in this matter, as far as utensils go.

I will bring my fish fryer.

Reload-

not sure what the price will be with 6 of us. TOO got a price for 3 people, but I am sure the cost will be affected per person with more people.

TOO-

When you get a chance can you answer this question. Also, give me a call. I will be by myself more than likely and can pick you up.

Looking forward to it guys!

Hey gents, I just got back from fishing Baffin and we caught some fish despite the conditions. I picked up some fish near the tide gauge shoreline Friday with that howling wind. For the most of weekend, majority of our fish were caught in the Laguna. I will post a report with pics later. I have been busy at work catching up from being out on Friday.

We did go with a big group and another set of guys fished with a guide and they did well on the Kennedy shoreline. The guide picked up a 30" sow.

Reload, the more the merrier because it's $100/night for 2 people. Then $25/night for each additional person. So the more people we have the lesser the amount per person. With 6 of us going and staying Saturday and Sunday night, I think it comes out to $70/person for the whole weekend. I'll let TOO confirm that.

Ross, Castnstay has all the utensils you need in the cabins. That is what great about it, you can pretty much bring your fishing gear and groceries and be set. Heck, if I remember right he has a burner and propane, but we might want to bring a fryer just in case. I'll bring my small fryer for french fries and misc(oyters) frying. It's electric, but it has a nifty temp and timer gauge for easy frying.

Guys, I am sorry, I've been swamped with trips really heavy. I'll post more details Tuesday, I promise. I even had the pleasure of talking to J.P. today and had to cut our conversation short.
Cb done explained the details well, and I'll add a few Tuesday, again, I promise. laugh

OK guys, lets roll! C&S has all you need as CB says. Grill, deep fryer, full kitchen, room for 6 or more, I think............Got a lighted pier down the slope, boat ramp a couple miles away. We need to look at the wind on the days we're fishing, if it's hard out of the S, we might want to launch from the Williamsport ramp about 5 miles away, if we get some moderate wind the ramp by Baffin Bay Inn should do us good. I'm not going to post the specifics of MY suggested areas to fish, but I'd recommend we consider wading and then consider drift fishing if that proves to be the better deal. A hard S wind will find us along the South shoreline, and a moderate wind might find us working some deep rocks.
We also need to be ready for fishing the mud flats in - - - - - - - - , either drifting or wading.
RF as far as colors, the LSU color combo is a good one, most important is confidence in the lure. Dark seems to be the key right now, lets see if it stays that way. I'll say this, my best fortune has been with Pumpkinseed/Chart tailed Sand Eel Jr's. Bone color topwaters have done me good there also. Still got the image of the wash tub splash and run to the mouth of Baffin by a rather large trout on a 'Dog Jr a few years ago. Bone was the color.
CB,RL2, SRAM and bro, just remember I'm not a guide, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I'll do my best to see that we get some fish. Please be gentle! I'll be talking to RF next week and see how it works for the drive down.
RF I did get your email and will call next week, if you're going solo driving I do suggest we meet up and share the ride. You don't mind me snoring on the way down, right? laugh
Here's the link to C&S for you folks www.castnstay.com Not a bad place for a bunch of smelly fishing folks.
We are booked for March 12th-14th, and we'll have a good time. Deposit has been mailed and I charge 20% for handling, except for the owner of the water taxi. laugh
Scotty, thanks for the kind words, just one question, WHY AREN'T YOU GOING US!!!!! Don't tell me Spring Break again. laugh
One last thing, even when I go the whole trip without a fish, please lie and say I caught one or two, please! laugh
Do expect a crowd Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks for the update. I have always said that confidence in what you are throwing is key, but I have a lot of confidence in several colors! laugh

I was looking at a HotSpot map last night and saw some interesting areas to fish. Any mud would be good to start.

Sand/grass has been productive for me in the past on other bays when the fish start to spawn. We might need to look at those areas too.

TOO,

I have confidence in you to put us on some fish. The main thing I am worried about is navigating the bay. I think it is probably just in my mind as to what it is like.

I am ready for this too! Going to get my boat cleaned up next week and exchange my freshwater lures for topwaters and soft plastics.

I need a fix bad! Until then, I guess Sand Bass will have to do!

Saturday but not sure what time others are planning on arriving. Should we set up a general time? How long does it take to get there from the Houston Area?

I am waiting on TOO to call me. I should have a better idea of what time we will be there after talking to him.

I was looking at betting down there in time to fish Saturday evening for a while.
