Here are all of my photos via Flickr. Spring GTG Flickr Set: Link HereSpring GTG Flickr Slideshow: Link HereAgain, I just want to thank everyone involved for making this happen. The tents, food, supplies, demos, events, awards, hospitality - it was all very appreciated. I had an awesome time. I drove up to the event from Dallas not having met anyone involved with this forum before, and feel like I left with some new fishing buddies. Gracias Amigos.

Lol. Great shot. Jeremiah, it was truly an honor to paddle with you this weekend. It was easily one of my best sessions, and I won't ever forget it.

What an awesome time! Thanks Neumie, the sponsers, and all the guys whos labor in cooking made this a great event for all the faimlies. Very cool on the photography District paddle! Now Shaun these are some good photos too but they leave a few things out.... This was fierce competion in extreme conditions that I was winning I might add and Shauns photos don't show but If you look at the third photo I was going on the inside of the pylon and needed to go to the outside. So as I corrected a phantom wave came and knocked over my kayak. Seriously I might mention that besides the one race I turtled my BS Ascend, it won every race including the last two heats and it took Neumie to the winner circle. That means it is faster and more maneuverable than some other high end kayaks.....going backwards! One last thing, I came in dead last I think I can safely say on the casting contest. First cast I casted the rod with the lure. (thats because my hand was wet from turtling my yak cause I ran into a stump on the racing contest ) The other two attempts I endangered the spectators. I was even beat by a girl. But come on! It was a 2 1/2 foot pink Barbie rod with a pink worm! Next time we can grab our favorite poll and set a can 40 feet away and see who can get it in. That what I thought the casting contest was! What a great weekend. You couldn't meet a better group of guys. Thanks for making me and my family feel like old friends. We had a great time and looking forward until the next GTG.

surface temps in shallows 75+ main lake surface temps 64-67 found sandbass in 24-43ft between the islands birds clued us in initially then stayed on em with sonar bait: small white slabs & small white cranks also took several on silver/gold cranks 2-3 more weeks & they will be surface feeding more freq slow -fast retrieve worked well on cranks at down to 6' winds 3-15 mph. trolled, slabed & anchored when winds kicked up son adrian showing off some of his whites for your viewing pleasure. he didn't tourney but would have placed with his 1 bucket mouth 2 easy limits. heres a few of the bigger ones cop a squat next ta papa's limit youngin some where quit spunky some of the fleet. was my pleasure meeting you all. saw some impressive rigging, loved the mudbugs, gumbo, taders & enjoyed the competition boys! Neumie i want a rematch ......SUCKA!!! Dang! I so wanted to go out there and catch some of those. Sorry I loaded up to quick. I had to go change cause I got all wet cause a tornado turtled my kayak during the racing event.

Fantastic pics everyone! it was a great day. (except for the fishing in community cove). I felt like Charlie Brown on halloween at the weigh-in. "I got a rock", (Gar)......... same thing.
After entering my backwards regatta for the first time, I kinda feel guilty about putting people through it over the years.(kinda).
Thank you Dale and Desiree for cooking up such spectacular vittles for us all. You would have to drive to Lafayette La. to get Crawfish and Gumbo like that! Thank you Josh for all the hard work setting it up. From fielding all the calls and text', finding the mudbugs, Organizing the tourney, making giant presentation checks, you didit all! Thank you Mariner Sails for the prize donations and bringing out demo yaks. Also a thanks to Bass Pro for their donations. Most of all, thank you all for showing up and making this such a great event.
To those that have been to GTG's held at Grapevine and RayBob, I would like some input as to what you liked and disliked about each location. Just send me a PM here or over on TKF.

FishingRythe- Which one were you? I was looking for you Saturday but had no luck. I thought I could recognize you but I failed . We should have all worn name badges. That would have made it easier.

Yeah, that would be my only suggestion for the next GTG: name tags.
Perhaps even a quick little meet and greet session where we can gather in a group, stand up one by one, and introduce ourselves to everyone. Just a little ice-breaker.
Otherwise, it was perfect.

FishingRythe- Which one were you? I was looking for you Saturday but had no luck. I thought I could recognize you but I failed . Is that a serious question Shaun?... Scroll up and view the pics again. Think you missed a couple of pics of FishingRythe...never mind just see below... FishingRythe won the Golden Milk Crate Award for wearing the whitest shirt there. I had a feeling it was you man. I don't why, but my guess was right. I'm like the Lochness Monster, often heard about, but rarely seen... There was some some stiff competition in the Barbie throwing event. Would you just look at the forum of these guys? They were serious!!!! LOOK OUT!!!!! I don't even wanna know what Zombie was doing or thinking....

looks like zombie was pooping just a little bit.... It was easy to find you Shaun since you seemed to be winning all the prizes and cash, just had to find the pile or loot and you found Shaun. In defense of my white shirt and shorts it is the best color to wear out on the lake. Bright color, doesn't get hot, doesn't absorb a lot of solar heat like most colors, I look damn spiffy in it and it wins Golden Crates full of goodies I actually really wanted and needed. Over all was a great time and had a blast, but next time I'm getting a T-shirt screen printed with my forum handle and real name. Make it just like the Air Force with my name on my chest so nobody has to remember or be embarrassed when I tell them my name 6 times and they forget and have to re-ask me. Now lets talk about fishing next weekend and were we are all going too

That's a good question. Why don't you start a thread and see if we can get a few people together to go fishing very soon?
