This is almost as bad as the trendy little girls down at the outlet mall. I guess you just cant catch fish without a proangler... despite the fact that people have been doing it for years! Nobody said anything of the sorts. Lots of fish have been caught on Barbie rods. Why the aggression bro? Maybe a little more time on the lake and a little less time in the outlet mall would do you good.

If you want to just catch channelcat and an occasional blue, a 20 ft Calcutta cane pole will work but if your asking the original question about catching a record fish you need something a little better!

You gotta fish with a proangler or your not a real catfisher man... your a catfisher boy... I though it was kinda funny but obviously yal didnt take it that way.

I understood what you meant and see where you are coming from. For me it was about the ProAngler being double the price (because of lack of availability I would have had to have it shipped) of the UglyStik or me driving 2 hours one way (not to mention the price of gas) to someone who was gracious enough to offer to meet me. I didn't have the time and since I am really more of a beginner didn't want to pay double.

i don't have any pro angler rods but now that tex is coming out with a 10 ft casting model i'm gonna give it a try ... i also don't have any ugly stiks ... i bought a 12 ft ugly casting & couldn't get rid of it fast enuff, junk
just because piece of equipment is designated for catfish really might not mean a thing ... i betcha almost 100% of all cat rods are on the same blanks that other rods are made on ... just has a different name
i know what redchevy is gettin' at ... makes a feller wonder how he was able to even get out of bed the first 50 years of his life much less catch a catfish without all these new catfishin' products ... ain't really nobody knocking' anything just amazed at all the hype & BS sometimes
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

i currently have only one 10' proangler and no ugly sticks..... i have had ugly sticks in past but got them stolen and have used several tffrs pa rods when i fished with them...... my broke arse currently has 8 other cheapo mh rods that retail under $25 or came as a combo in the $40-50 range...or was bought uised.....but as the others pointed out the question was "proangler or ugly stick?" and majority of tff catfishers( at least of the regulars) prefer proangler between the two...not everybody....... i have 2-3 other less expensive brand rods that i like (like the $12 Tc Yellow ALOT of guys use) but between ugly stck and pa i like pa better........ and yes location plays an important part of decision too....lil cheaper and easier to get pa for us dfw area catfishers...... but when i ever get a job i gotta get a few more ProAngler rods so I can be in the cool catfishing crowd.....

Well just like trendy rods there's trolls out there that like to get off topic and stir something up out of nothing.

A whole $19.95 for my Jarvis Walker Live bait rods, they have stood up to many 7 pound plus Hybrids and 30 pound plus FlatHeads.

I would never put down anyone else's product. There are many rods out there. I have fished all my life and have used many of them and caught fish on em as well. Seems like I would always have something about each of them that I thought could be better if this or that so I designed the PAT rod to close those gaps. I am just thankful that others like it as well as I do.
Thanks for your support!!!
