Im going to Ray Roberts for the kayak get together this weekend but during the work week after 5pm or so I should be game for some fishing. Paddling is the name of my game so I'm set and ready whenever.

Went out to arrowhead today to test out my new fish finder on my kayak and caught a few nice 13 inch sand bass trolling in 30+ ft of water on a nice light 4lb test pole, was fun. Went to the damn no crappie but a ton of gar eating shad again, was really neat being out in the middle of them while they feed. Fishing the derricks for about 15 mins and snagged two nice pole benders but didn't land them, over all the new Fish finder works great and was a nice day at arrowhead.

dam maybe we outta take out the yaks!!! with fish finder and all!!! sure would help out at the river!!!

went to lewisville last night to do some bow fishing!! it was very windy!! but for my first guided trip i had an ok time!! i didnt get a fish but shot enuff!!! wasnt reall good fishing, water was all murky and cloudy made it hard to see them!! my friends said they were disappointed!! so if it gets better cant wait!! we got a few smake and only 4 carp for the whole night!!

Went to buffalo tonight the dam was packed! One guy caught a 3.5lb crappie off of the damn bout 20ft out. He weighed it on my scale and that thing was big! Mix reviews on the crappie bite just depended on who you talked to. I had water from 70 to 73degress

Maybe ill take the yak out and follow behind you in the john boat especially if you get a second. If not ill come along with you just happily the new fish finder is awesome and didn't cost all that much to rig.If you give me a days notice or so I should be able to grab one of my buddies, I figure he can help you paddle and I'll bring along the kayak with my fish finder. Plus worse comes to worse if the wind sucks at certain points on the river i can tow you easily . Do you normally fish where the river meets the lake? I haven't fished that area yet, just the river itself and I haven't caught anything but a free catfish a guy gave me when he had to many.

I did buffalo creek about 3 days ago and nabbed about 12 non keepers and 2 big 13 inch keepers, in 10 feet of water with green roadrunner with black/green body.

No haven't yet made it to the mouth of he river!!! Sounds fun. I wl let you k ow here some time today!!! I haven't caught nothing out of the river either!! Have seen a few catfish caught and seen a guy out there catch about 6 crappie and he said he was out there for to long to o ly have 6!!

ok sounds like a plan, i hear it is a good catfish area but mainly at the mouth where I have seen tons of boats and people fishing. Though that is a rather long paddle takes me about 40 mins at a steady pace to get there.

Well, we got to go fishing finally Sunday Afternoon. Fished from 3:00 till 8:00 and got about 20 keepers. Work H Bridge all over and the damn with scattered bites. Just kept moving 4 or 5 here and there. Never made it to third bridge,. Whats the word there? I heard on the way in thats where I should have been.

Now that's some good news! Were you using minnows?

The old man has been fishing the third bridge steady but the bite is still difficult. He will catch two or three and then move and catch two or three more. Mostly big males on minnows. Yall watch the shallows especially just to the right of the boat ramp at the third bridge. Those little willow trees used to be in about 3 foot of water and the big females would hit hard around them. Hope yall catch em all!

Well I am good for wed if you wanna float the river??? I. Get off about 5. I have some soured wheat ready to bring along too!!

Cool let me ask the wifey to make sure where good, my buddy can't make it this week so ill leave the yak at home. I got some nasty chicken livers soaked in garlic salt that work great. What time can u make it to shoshonee anyways? I figure we need to be off the water by eight to get in before dark or we can try something like arrowhead crappie, I'm game for anything. Need to figure out where in shoshone works good to since I really have never fished it. What's the chance you can go tomorrow (Tuesday) too?

Edit: only down side I can see fishing the mouth is it takes me 40 mins or so to just reach the mouth of the river and I think my yak might be faster then a paddled boat. If we think we can't do it during a weekday I'm game to meet up any day on a weekend to fish all day.

Ok cool ill have to get ahold of you tomorrow maybe we can shore fish arrowhead or something. Not sure we would have the time to paddle and get back before it gets too dark and still have good time to fish. Ill have to ask the wife to see if we got anything going on.

Talked to the guy camped by the shoshone boat ramp today (his name is Mark). He's been there a week and killin the cats. Real nice guy so if you see him say hi. He told me guys in boats and tubes were limiting out on crappie there this past weekend. Man, I just cant bring myself to put my tube in there. Anyway, we caught 5 real nice ones at third bridge jiggin black/chart. We also had minnows but no hits on those. maybe tomorrow?
