Cul-M-Rite. Expensive but good if you need the accuracy.

Also read some reviews on it and most were positive but some mentioned the scale crapping out. Anyone else heard of that?

I use a berkley scale that has the mouth grip on it and the cheapo culling system from academy. I got the berkley scale for about $50 less than its actual value do to a mess up at academy and have found it to be very accurate so far. Measured several weights at the house with it and it was dead on then in some tourneys used it to weigh our biggest bass and was 1 once off from the tourney scales, but have only had it since the start of the year so durability is still in question. I use the $9 or so cull rings also form academy they serve their purpose.

Have you seen the Ardent culling bobbers? Pretty slick idea! In case you haven't seen them they have rotating numbers on each side so you can put how much each fish weighs on it's bobber. I also saw that the H2O brand copied the Ardent system and their's is quite a bit cheaper. It's one of those, "Why didn't I think of that deals?"

Thanks gibson... I guess they just got mew ownership and because of that no prices are mentioned. So what does it normally cost?

If you are using the scale to cull for tournaments it is more important to make sure the scale you use weighs consistently. Over the years I have seen scales that will weigh a fish at 3 lbs for example and if you check the same fish 10 minutes later it may weigh 3 lbs and 3 ounces. Accuracy is nice but if you plan to cull, consistency is the most important.

I have to say that I think a simple balance beam is alot better than most of the high dollar culling systems out there.
By the time you weigh each fish and try to catalog them it seems easier to me to just put a certain color on the smallest one and when it is time to cull just balance beam any fish that are close.
They are cheap and work.

+ 1 but I always keep a balance beam handy for when it's really close

I Would still away from them on e bay they look like the old model. They had lots of problems with them. The newer model works great.
