Buy packs of rubber core sinkers in the different sizes. Take the insert out and crimp them onto your hooks. They are perfect for adding weight to swimbaits and spinnerbaits. Inexpensive too.
beat me to it.

Ill tell you the best way to do it, and you can use any hook you want to. Go to your local golf pro shop and buy the lead tape they sell. Anywhere you can find lead tape. Wrap it around your hook as much weight as you want to add. The little added weight to the hook makes the action of the fluke look so natural.

Try the hooks that come in a Sebile Swimbait package, they have a slide on weight that slide directly onto your hook and can be positioned to the front for a nose dive effect or to the center for a lateral type of fall this may acheive what you are looking for. The trouble is that a pack of those Sebile Swimbaits usually run about $15 for a 3 pack, but they are good baits as well and worth the investment if you don't on any yet.

Here is a rig I use.
I use a version of a carolina Rig that helps them sink faster, but does not inhibit the action. If you are looking for a sinking presentation ties on a Large Shark Swivel and pinch on a 3/16 or 1/4oz cylindrical pinch on behind the swivel. Then use 17-25lb flourocarbon leader. The bait will sink great and not lose the darting action when you twicth your rod tip or give a quick reel. With the large swivel and 3/16oz weight I estimate you are getting about 3/8oz of weight on your bait, and you have something strong enought to handle large fish.
The weight is easily adjustable by removing the pinch on or down sizing the swivel and you keep your action of the fluke. Also, I like this mini carolina rig because you can throw it through trees, grass and brush with out hangin up, and it sinks quickly when you pull it over a branch.

I use the lead nails that you can get at tackle shops. You can stick them into the bait in different places and get a different action.

Just go to home depot and get finish nails. No need to spend more money on something when you can get a 5 lb box for lees them any of those weights.

5/0 heavy wire hooks or 5/0 light wire hooks for light weight applications, used several brands. Of course, when the wind is like it has been...the line just acts like a sail, and you can forget using this!
Also use several swim bait hooks with weighted hook shanks for a neutral fall. Really like this off of the edge of weed mats later in the summer.
When I want just a little bit more fall, but some forward movement on the fall, I pinch on a small split shot. If I want a little more nose weight I go with some pinch on bullet weights.
Then sometimes I have used a combination of the 1/16 or 1/8 shank weight with 1/16 or 1/8 nose weight to give it yet a different action.
Each one not only affects the rate of fall, but how it falls. On a slow day, I will often change the weight before I change to another bait. The fluke is my "goto" bait most of the time.
It has always been my private conviction that any man who pits his intelligence against a fish and loses has it coming. -John Steinbeck

I swing and miss at a ton of bass fluke fishing. Almost to the point where I don't even throw one anymore. What's the secret to getting a good hook set with these little bastards?
