Tawakoni is still rocking and rolling! Some days have been better than others, but putting fish in the box has not been a problem. The water temp on the main lake has been around 61-64 degrees this week and we are just about 3.5' low. We have had some great days in the past week fishing in and around birds throwing a guess what bait. Banana Sassy Shad

I fight it, but the ol green sassy just works on Twok. Mornings have gotten tough the past few days for big fish. The bird action just hasnt happened. If you are in the right spot at the right time you can still catch some good ones, but you really have to work for them. Thankfully the SLAB BITE is on for the Sand Bass

I think I cleaned 100 sand bass yesterday and about a dozen stripes. Thats pretty much all my cooler will hold

The morning was so slow, we ran up the lake and filled the box with sandies. We were back by 10am and then finally caught some striper. So if you are having trouble or tired of waiting and watching, Twok sandies are on about all the points and humps right at 20 deep. Just follow about any drop off to around 20 and they should be close. SSS Slabs and Mighty Moes are working great. Caught a bunch on Moes new prototype slab as well
The good news is the afternoon bite has been phenomenal. I ran a few double trips this week and each one was great. The night before last we literally caught over 40 nice striper in the last hour of daylight. Caught them pretty much in the dark at the last of it
You just have to wait for the IDIOTS to stop running right into the schooling fish with their engines running trying to be the first ones there to give up and go away. When all the MORONS blow out and leave a group they spooked to go spook another bunch, just wait it out and the fish will probably come back up in the same area with no birds around. There are a group of guys coming out running several boats, some with trolling motors, some without, and none use them. They literally blow into the middle of a school even right on top of boats and never even kill the engine. I saw a couple riding on the front deck at 50mph casting before their boats came off plane when they run into schools. I dont own the lake, Im not the worlds best fisherman, and being a guide means nothing out there - BUT if you drop your trolling motor 75-100 yards out upwind of a school and sneak in, EVERYONE will catch a bunch. The fish will keep right on schooling and wont move. There will be plenty for everyone. But when you blow into a school past all the other boats, you will catch a couple, they will spook and leave, and you just RUINED it for all the other people who are trying to fish. . Ok, rant over. Just had to get that off my chest.
Havent gotten lucky in the past few days. Dont think we have busted into the double digits sized fish. I guess my luck has run out

All the real big ones lately have come from the same schools of fish we have been on. Seems like there are some good ones in all of them, but I still havent found a special technique to pull them out. It just happens all on its own. I guess thats part of what keeps it so exciting. I have a lot of openings if you want to hit Twok with me. Right now we can literally catch fish from daylight till dark if ya want to keep busy on sand bass. I am starting to run afternoon trips. I need some extra money

As a lot of ya'll know, I am dying for a new boat. I have been offered a deal with Skeeter and I think I am going to pull the trigger on one this Summer. Guess I'd better clean my boat up and get it ready to sell.....anybody ??

Just give me a call at 214-415-0166 and lets go have some fun!
