Yes I believe so it's right next to an oil jack. I know it used to be stocked but I came up empy so they might not of restocked it yet.

I drive out there about once a week and I saw that there were some "fish condos" in there. Was the water pretty murky?

Has anyone tried the large pond behind Target in Bryan? I have seen some people fishing it lately....

I made a whole new thread when this one was just a couple pages back. Sorry!

I was thinking about trying that pond behind Target in the morning. A few places I've gathered from online that I want to try:
1) Pond behind Central Baptist in Bryan - Heard it hasn't been restocked.
2) Bryan Golf course - Is it still illegal to fish there?
3) Research park lakes @ TAMU - Can you fish there?
4) Pond behind Target - Going to try it tomorrow
5) Pond behind Sam's that you mentioned - concerned with it being private

No fishing signs are posted at research. I hear so many people talk about fishings at Sam's so if it is private I would assume they don't care. That place is a dump now though, trash everywhere. Give an update on the Target pond if you don't mind.

Didn't catch a thing at the Target pond. It's a nice sized and looking place. Minnows in the water. I saw a couple fish hit the top, but nothing big. I tried all kinds of things but no bites.

Drove over to the pond behind the Central Baptist church. It's fairly small. I caught 1 large mouth @ about 8". Nothing else. Very muddy out there. No shade and all I saw was a few branches sticking out for vegetation. TONS of turtles, but they left me alone.

Don't take these as concrete evidence that there isn't much because I'm no pro-angler.

Its my understanding that the pond behind Target mostly has just perch, some channels, and a lots of polywogs. Im sure theres some bass in there. Only fished there a couple times and that was to get some of the perch and polywogs for bait.

I had a line with some bloodbait/stink bate on it and I never got a bit at all.

What's your tips for getting the perch in there? Never intentionally fished for perch...

bobber, weight, small hook baited with worm. As far as strategy, i fished the deeper end of the pond, fairly close to the bank. Keep you bait 2-3 feet or so under the bobber.

I will say this too...all stinkbaits are not equal. Some of those you buy at academy/gander are a complete waste of money. If your gonna buy some, get CJ's shad or monster flavor. Danny Kings is a distant second choice. Usually if the store is out of CJ's, i dont buy any at all.

Gotcha. I'll have to try that out next time I go out there. Do you know how deep it is?

I've always just used Magic Bait from Walmart. I bought some Catfish Charlie ( http://www.amazon.com/Catfish-Charlies-Wildcat-Premolded-Baits/dp/B003N1KED6 ). I didn't realize there was a "good" and "bad" really. CJ's is by far the best though?

I actually have no idea how deep that pond is. And it looks to be several feet low too.

Yeah of all the baits you will find at any store in the B-CS, CJ's is by far the best. I know Academy sells it. They have shad, monster, minnow, and crawdad flavor. Had the most success on shad and monster. Its also a 'punch' bait, meaning you will need a stick or something to 'punch' your treble hook (#4 or #6 size) into the bucket, and then pull the hook out so it grabs the bait. You dont wanna get the stuff on your hands either.

Havnt been there in a week or so. Have not bought any CJ's in a month or so, so i havent really paid attention to that.

Either one of those and you will be good. I think they both work equally well.
