Rudy..... where of do you speak of, man? May need to check some new water for upcoming tourney's.

With the lake being low and no grass, the summer bite should be cracking when it gets here. Gonna really concentrate these fish on certain spots and I can only imagine the cuss wars that are gonna go down of "my spot / your spot" hahahhahahahaha I can't wait

Been wondering the same thing! I'm just getting back in the saddle and haven't fished much since the sand bass have showed up on Fork. I like the deeper ofshore fishing and think the sand bass may scatter the bait more. Quess we'll have to wait and see.

Sand bass or not I have had nothing but great luck for well over a year in shallow water. Even with no grass you can find them on certain cover if you look. They all ain't swimming to deep water. I was getting killed in 1-4' of water all winter even in the colder days. With 45-48 degree water temps they were knocking slack in the line. I kinda wonder if its not gonna fish more like Tawakoni with so many sandbass now.

Is the sandbass population that serious now?

They are more prevalent but I am used to seeing them on most lakes I fish so I guess I have not felt like it was getting out of hand. That being said I know the shallow dock bite has been crazy for a while. Maybe its the lack of grass but something has pushed them there.

Your right Mark, the fish have been (a lot of them) shallow all year in areas. The grass will come back--it's already coming back in our cove, nice short stubby stuff.

Wood near deep water or creek bends have been really good.
I struggled badly earlier this year not adapting to the current conditions..
For some reason ? I can't will the fish to be where they used to be, new ball game for sure this spring.
I must be a slow learner, old habits are hard to break.
