i dont know the lake....but on many of our lakes in the area the cats are moving to shallow water. Find a shallow area with some timber and give it a try.Find a wind blown point or cove..... HF

Steele Creek is a good spot if they are shallow. I would tell you one of my favorites, but I really cannot explain how to get to it. I drive there just knowing.

You will most assuredly need to catch fresh shad. I have never had much luck with stink baits etc on Whitney. Of course that could just be me.

Do you know how to get to Old Fort Park (which is closed)?

When did they close it?

I think I know the spot you are speaking of, the bank just south of the park, it was a popular bank spot when I lived there years ago when the wind was blowing from the north-west.

Its been closed for a several years. Same old same ole, people not cleaning up after themselves etc so Army Corp closed it. I did hear a rumor that they might reopen it soon. That would be great as I have pulled many a fish from that park.

You don't actually go in the park to get to the spot I am talking about. Although we might be talking about the same spot.

Steele Creek- Go to "T": and take a left. Fish near last campsite on your right.

State Park- Rocky point between campsites 114 and 115. Entrance fees apply.
