Im kinda new to fishing and have like a handfull of old rusty hooks. Is there a proper way to dispose them?

Put them in a beer or a pop can and squeeze it together so they can't fall out I do the same thing with my fishing line.

Can or stick them in styrofoam is a good way as well. I should be more considerate myself when tossing 'em

You can do the same thing that my diabetic patients used to do with their used syringes. You can use a Sharps container that is available at any pharmacy, but they can be expensive.

Most use a thick plastic bottle such as a soda bottle. It makes it less likely for your local trash guy to get stuck while handling the bag.

Unless someone grabs the bottle and squeezes it fairly hard, they are not very likely to get stuck.
