Anyone? Little over a month to go but I am just pumped about this year!

Have they gotten some rain out there? Going to hit my friends place saturday morning for some bass fishing with my new rig.

I liked that lake a lot, mainly because I spent two days on it w/ Blue Ranger last Nov, just when the cold weather/rains hit. We did ok, and I bet it's going to be good the next couple of months. I liked it because it was 'manageble', a lot like our lakes here, but more like a pond over there. The concession folks were very nice, new there they said.

So is the bait shop back open? Are they selling goldfish? I heard that the person who used to run it passed away. Last year when I was there it closed cause no one was running it

Less than one month to go... Got to do some practice worming this weekend, of course a reel broke on me so thanks to Fishin4BassOnly for bringing the extra rod which I left in my truck so as to practice with my new rod reel setup lol! Next up is running my jig...

Anyone got tips? Is the baitshop reopened? Hours?

PC hasnt been as good because the Hydrilla is gone. The overall bass fishing has declined since the grass died out. The TPWD peeps at the front gate say it was when the lake rose about 2 feet high the year before and that that killed out the grass but I havent ever seen high water for a short period kill out Hydrilla. I have seen it grow in 20ft of water for longer periods than a couple of months. TPWD is totally wrong with their position on Hydrilla. TPWD calls it a dangerous and noxious weed. What should they care if the stuff grows in a lake designed to produce a world record ( Catch and Release only ). I have never seen a really good Bass fishing lake without Hydrilla ( no place for the fry to hide and grow ) with the exception of a few West Texas lakes Falcon & O.H.Ivey. Interestingly enough Ivey had a tremendous amount of Hydrilla but now has none because the lake level fell below the grass level and it died!

Guess those grass carp they put in didn't hurt the hydrilla? They ruined a really fun lake to fish!

aren't you still a couple of weeks out?

be patient daniel-son.... azn

when you pm me, I will give you everything you need to know (ok not EVERYTHING, but a lot) to catch some good fish there.

I presume you know how to work a c-rig and mid-depth to deep cranks? If not, go practice doing that in timber...

I fished Thursday the 16th and the morning of Friday the 17th. I have not fished there in years and even then only a couple of times so this was like the first time. I caught 13 Thursday and 10 Friday morning. The wind was terrible and I was only able to fish the main lake close to the bank to avoid the wind. On Thursday I caught all on a weightless watermelon red fluke and Friday they all came on a 6" watermelon seed lizard with a small weight. I was on the east one day and the west the next as the wind shifted. Nothing over three pounds but all fought hard and I broke two that wrapped stumps. Everything was holding close the stumps. The bait shop was open from 7a-9p thu n fri. The attendant was friendly but no help on fishing status. I am hoping to go back this sunday if the weather holds out. If I do I will update.Good luck.

Great update....thanks! I'm headed there in about 3 weeks. Did you see any bedding bass? Do you know if the spawn is winding down? Thanks!
