Water temp at chimney today was between 64 and 65 in the shallows. Fished hard all the shore to and past the 2nd cAmp, then came back up hitting the docks and then fished the stumps and shallows/under bridge. We only caught 2 LMB. Tried jigs and minnows. Gave up when i lost my trolling motor prop. Was about time anyways.

I tried jigs and minnows today at flat creek area. Fished docks, grass, stumps 2-8 ft water and had no fish. 66-70+ degrees. Anyone else having issues finding them on palestine?

Fished ledbetter with minnows and jigs all morning and got nothing. Was by myself and wind can make fishing hard work sometimes! Switched to bass in the afternoon, found cover from wind, and caught fish. They dont taste as good but they still eat.

It is a bit reassuring that ain't nobody reporting big stringers.

From what I've see & heard, I'd hit the big bridge early, start at either end & fish about 12' deep. I'm told some healthy strings are being caught 1st thing of a morning.

Like Bluetick said, reports are that the early morning bite is about it. I was able to go yesterday for a couple hours in the afternoon and found only 1 crappie on the Flat Creek bridge. An old timer told me he thought the bitter cold we had right after a stretch of weather that had the fish really moving shallow, pushed them deeper to look for places to spawn. In past years where this similar thing has happened, I have caught fish on timber in 20 fow, fishing 10-12 ft deep, and pulled females up actually spewing eggs on the boat. Could be happening that way this year. I understand the bigger fish at Cypress were caught early on the bridge. Just sayin.

Pepop was correct. Found fish in 10ish ft water. Kept about 15, threw back about 20, few prolly would have kept but we have a decent stock frozen.

Launched kpoo

I fished just a short time on Sat.PM Spent most of my time
playing with the hybrids and sandies .

Fished about an hour for crappie , Tried shallow , zip ,
the 7 fats ones I caught were in 13-14 ft. but near
shorelines.
