This was made by one of the Pastors at my church who has a little shop behind his house. He did some research on the Navys anchors and patterned it after his findings. I will let you know how it works after Calaveras tomorrow.

John, I went out and weighted it, 23 lbs and with chain 25 lbs. I think it will hold, don't you. Already told him I need one for the back and he said he got enough material to make another one, figured I would want two. What a friend, took him fishing and he's the one that caught the 10.7 lb blue out at Cally a while back.

Only problem John is that if the are light weight, it takes them a longer time (more travel) to lock into the bottom. Mine are about the same weight as Jim's and grab awesome.

It's the design not the weight that make them hold. I saw one today that was'nt but 17lbs that was holding a 24' skeeter CC in some pretty good winds today.

That's what we use here in Arkansas / a box anchor . Mine is 18 lbs and will hold when ya should have stayed home All of us have 20/72's up this way..they hold just fine...try using 2......... you can also buy them from cabelas...it will set ya back a couple hundred
If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....
