i threw a frog over the weekend and whacked em pretty good. Mark you are going to love the Koppers frog....real easy to walk and doesn't take on any water. I consider frogs my specialty and have used all the frogs out there .....the koppers is the real deal in my opinion. you don't have to wait for 75 degree water...i was catching them in 60 and 59. and if you think they hit a spook on a bed....throw a real brite colored frog over the bed and watch what happens...

I have about 6 of the new Koppers frogs. I caught this one on the smaller version of the green and yellow frog in January on Monticello. Absolutely crushed it!

What lake in the DFW area develops some good grass to throw frogs on the earliest? or just overall best frog lake in the area?

The frog bite was AMAZING this morning. Caught about 20 decent fish in 3 hrs on a pond outside of Tyler. Watermellon red rage frog on a weighted hook. They were destroying it on impact and following it as it went over beds. Some were hitting at it and missing, but you could go right back and get them the next cast. It was an amazing morning

Any of you guys throwing these in open water? My small lake here has NO sort of floating/high vegetation.

Was on Raven at sunrise. The water was up to 67 degrees. Threw a Rage Tail shad for about an hour and did not get a single strike.

Guys, I've tried the Spro and other frogs like that with the strands for legs and I have very little success. I do really good throwing the 'Scum Frog' without the stranded legs, but the ones with the kicking rubber legs. I have less hookup ration on these than many baits (just as most frogs) however the bass seem to thrash after this thing like a great white hitting a piece of bloody meat thrown in the ocean. I also do very well with the Zoom horny toad. I for whatever reason can't get bit much with the frogs that are hollow bodied with the double hook and strands for legs. Any thoughts why? I trimmed them down, I made them flair out more, I varied retrieves, I've tried everything. I just don't get bit on them...

On a side note- topwater. Frog is absolutely killer but I also have those jitterbugs available as well as a few spooks. But topic is frogs so will stick to that. thoughts anyone on my frog analysis above?

I threw a black Spro for about 4 hours today. Found some floating vegetation and just followed that pattern. First mat I hit I boated a nice slot fish. I moved on down to the next mat and had 5 more blow ups with 5 misses. I just chalk it up to frog fishing. I seem to have lots more misses than hook ups. Each time i felt like i gave the fish plenty of time before setting the hook and yet I still managed to lose them before getting them in the boat.
