Fished for 2 hrs Fri eve with no luck in a 15mph NW wind. Got reports from 3 guys of good stringers caught shallow in the Kickapoo area early Thurs & Fri. Stable temps this week will only make it better. There were many limits caught in Saline & Ledbetter in 3' water before the last freeze but haven't heard recently.

Thanks Pepop.

Off for Spring Break this week and I planned on trying to put a few in the freezer!

Will let you know how it goes.

Fished Ledbetter last Friday and caught no crappie. One black bass and one white bass was all we had to show for several hours of fishing. Wind blew us all over the cove. Heard no good reports from the Marina.

Several reports from guys here at work of plenty fish caught up Kickapoo & North of Russell Landing. If you could get out of the wind, the crappie were there. Also, Bluetick texted me this morning that he & a neighbor kid got 9 nice fish on South end of lake in skinny water. All I can say is "It's Time!"

Visiting at Chimney Creek now. Late afternoon yesterday was too easy fishing shallow! Bobby Garland monkey milk baby shad one foot under a bobber fishing various shallow places. I was catching them every thirty seconds for a while, unreal. Threw back many smallish keepers, kept a big mess. Thumb pretty raw from handling so many fish!

I don't know the temp, we were just bank fishing. Some of them hit just a couple of feet from the shore.

If it was me at K-poo today I'd first head to the Sportsman's Paradise bank & pitch a jig-bobber at anything in 2'ish of water(grass, sticks, bushes, rocks). If that didn't pay off within an hour I'd head North up the creek towards the Hwy 31 bridges. Tons of fish caught there last spawn. But that's me.
