Have not had any problems with mine, it's a great addition to any boat.

Holy bracket flex...they suck. How the bracket doesn't break in two is a miracle. Flex is what keeps a lot of things from breaking.

I've had a pair for almost 3 months now and Conroe is my home lake. The lake gets pretty darn rough.Gusts to 30 mph during the Oakley Big Bass Classic and ran across the lake. No problems yet, but I did call Minn Kota and got the upgraded bolts. They are an alternative to Power Poles. Competition is good.

I posted a question some months back, power pole vs talon and from what I am hearing my decision is leaning towards PP. I have fished a couple of windy/rough tournaments on Rayburn this year and saw several boats with talons, they do flex quite excessively more than the PP in my opinion. My fishing partner went to a boat show in Oklahoma and talked to the talon rep, even he wasn't crazy about the bracket.
still un-decided but sure am leaning towards a tried and true product (PP).

The Power Pole is tried and true thats for sure. With anything new (Talon in this case) there will be a couple issues right off the bat. It would not surprise me if the Talon sales far exceed the PP sales in the very near future.

love my Talon.... The bracket flexes very little but I think it is better to flex than break something. It rides fine and I can throw it down while trolling at a good speed. I have hit some tough waves and it is holding up well. Very easy to install. It took me 30 minutes. Both anchors do the same job. It is preference. One thing I like is the shaft goes straight down. The talon needs a little more space to deploy. The talon also has a quicker responce. You are anchored very quick after hitting the button.
In the morning be first up, and in the evening last to go to bed, for they that sleep catch no fish.

If you have the old hardware and make many road trips they WILL fall of.
I think part of it is because of the hardware, but I think a lot of it is because of the constant "wobble" while going down the road.
I have two brackets in my truck now to take to a welding shop and have them beefed up.

Yea I had a problem with the bolts on mine a few weeks ago. I deployed my Talon DOWN but the hole freaking thing went up. When the pole hit the botton it was easier for the Talon to go up then it was for the pole to push into the ground. I went back for a closer look and could move the bolts with my fingers. I had put them on very very tight when I installed them. I keep a tool kit on my boat so I was able to retighten them but now the Talon was at the wrong height. It was now lower than it should and started to grab a bunch of water when I tried to get on plain. So I ideled back to the ramp and put it on the trailer and reset the hight. Could have been worse. I could have been putting on my diving gear and looking for it at the bottom of the lake. HA
Thanks for the heads up on the bolt kit FIX. I had no idea they offered this. I will get it soon. I have been checking bolts now every time before I leave the house.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Im not tied to either company, Minn Kota or PP. And honestly would run either one cause both have their flaws, and both have perks.
Like I have said before, you cant go wrong with either companies product. I just chose Minn Kota because they have always made great stuff, and the Talon is great now they have the hardware fixed.

The dealer installed the new parts today .Total different design looks like it will hold up now. Atleast Minn Kota is fixing the problem with no questions. Good job..
