If everyone would really stop and think about it, this is an amzing crappie.How many can really say thay have truthfully caught one that large. Congtatualations to you and your wonderful fish.

Nice slab ... my brother caught an over 4# crappie at Cochiti lake of all places. I have caught 16" crappie that weighed 2.5#. I would have to say ...
Nice 3.5# crappie there, sure is a fatty. Your crappie just ate better than mine in New Mexico. Tournaments are full of fish that are the same length and a pound heavier.

I have got to say that is the fattest crappie i have ever seen.I wouldn't have been surprised to find a 2# crappie inside.

WOW, I had no idea what the lake record is. I did look up what the state records were, just out of curiosity. I figured mine wasn't very close and it wasn't. I wonder how many other people have eaten the lake record? I saw a guy with one on Saturday in a bucket that looked similar to mine. I've fished for crappie my entire life, so for at least 25 years, and never caught one close to that big. I doubt I'll catch another one, but who knows. There's a lot of crappie out there to catch. Can't wait until the season really gets going.
