I am probably going to go ahead and get new carpet, but I was just wondering if any of you folks have or know of anyone who has ever put a Rhino Lining or the like on a boat.

My concerns are that it might get a little slick, and I don't know enough about it to know if it would adhere well to fiberglass. Anyone got some advice on this?

Yeah I have considered that. They have it available in light colors like grey, red, and tan.

I got my trailer lined at Line-X of Fort Worth. There was a boat there getting done that week. It looked pretty cool. You might give them a call with questions. They certainly have experience in doing it and might could recommend someone in your area.

BTW, I love my trailer. It looks awesome!

we do extreme liners at our shop, we have people get inside and outside sprayed all the time but we only have black and seems like it would get pretty hot on the inside to me

There are different colors and these liners claim not to get slick. Call a dealer and ask. Just be sure and let us here on TFF know. If you do get it done give up some pics too!

I recently saw a fire rescue boat get done all over the inside and it looked very good. They did not need carpet and this stuff had a lot of texture to it giving plenty of traction. This place also sprayed a whole Toyota pickup that was going on a hunting lease ( it was a tan color and looked really good). It really keeps the noise from branches scraping on the sides way down.
These liners will stick to anything and fiberglass would be fine. Obviously a lighter color would be cooler

One of my friends did his top cap and carpeted areas and loves it. He claims it doesn't get hot or slick. He used black. He is on here so maybe he will chime in.

I've fished in a boat that had the interior done. Not sure what brand it was, but it was a more rubbery type finish instead of the sandpaper grit type you see on most pickup bedliners. It wasn't bad at all. Traction was real good and I couldn't tell that it was any noisier than carpet would have been. It was an off white color and got a little bright in the midday sun, but other than that I didn't see any real negatives.

What about weight? Would that be an issue?

Thanks for all the info guys. I think I am going to take it to a local place and get and estimate.

I have been doing some research and from what I have read, Line-X has a more hard/sandpaper feel and Rhino Lining is more rubbery feel. Sounds like Rhino would be better for a boat, but I am not going to rule out Line-X. Any thoughts on that?

Have any of you who have had your pick-up done remember how much it cost? I have seen anywhere from $300-$500, which would actually be cheaper than the carpet estimates I have gotten.

Also, if anyone on here has Rhino Lining or Line-X company and wants to do my boat for free and put a wrap on it to advertise your company, I am totally open to that!

I am thinking of doing the same with the upper portion of the outside of my G3 HP180. The paint is really taking a beating from fishing in the trees. How much should I expect it to cost? I saw where Line-X has a glossy finish liner that seems like it would be sweet. Anybody else done this?
