It's been a while since I've been on here, but I was thinking about going to Denton creek east of 377 this weekend, has anyone been lately? I saw the post about the dam, is it still there?

I'm sure it's still there, but that's just a guess.

I was out there yesterday and yes the dam is in place.
I found 2 small sand bass above the dam I did not go for the hike past the dam I bet one might do better past it.

Thanks for the update, I will let y'all know what I find. This nice weather is giving me the itch.

the dam is down now and fish are able to swim through like normal...cant get boats through yet because they have it roped off...went this morning and only caught one...talked with other people and they werent doing much either...still needs to warm up a little bit

so where can i buy minnows around 377 and 114? a google map would be very helpful

Cool thanks for posting it now I will fish it more in the next week and post anything that I have found. Also that maybe a good spot for fishing as in the rocks that they put in one should keep that in mind for the years coming up.

To chads: I been limiting out out on the bank for years on denton creek,bank fishermen are just as good, we just dont have a boat.I am always hitting the creek this time of year,last year was a good year,I know boat fisherman that pass me and tell me it's slow and I will be hitting the big girls so dont put down bankfisherman.

An attractive young lady Game Warden checked my ONE sand bass and my license today as I was bank fishing close to the boat ramp. She and her partner had been checking everyone on the creek.
She said the best catch she had seen was FOUR fish. I caught 3 for the day so I guess I did allright. Didn't feel allright though.

Theres a Valero in Roanoke that sells minnows.
