fz1 normally I totally agree with 99.99% of what you say, but here you are waaaaaaay off base
skeet has perfected some patterns kvd didnt think of. On clarks hill, skeet was throwing swim bats in 2-6 feet of water for prespawners. Had to be wind blown, near rocky banks....and no one was even coming close to figureing this pattern out. that is precision! he grew from a precision/crisp background with western clear waters. dont kid yourself about that.
only place I give kvd a large advantage over skeet is on smallies. but if we were fishing for giants on the west coast, skeet evens the fight.
as far as focus goes... you dont get to where either one of these guys reside in the bass fishing, without incredible focus. I love me some kvd and not trying to say he isnt incredible but you arent giving skeet enough respect in my opinion. Then you are correct 99.99% of the time.

or maybe Skeet's support team and network is stronger this year. Are you suggesting better inside info?
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Im old school, and I like me a Dee Thomas or a Shaw Grigsby, but out of those 2 I gotta say KVD. Ol Dee is defintely a legend in the bass fishing world! The flipping king! He's won a lot of money on the river

This was posted last june!!! So who ya Takin know!! Theres absolutley know dought KVD is the best ever! I was reading and article that said "I knew there were gonna be long fog delays and couldnt risk traveling 3-4 hours looking for fish. so i stayed close in an area i knew was a good place to fish, and was catching fish before anyone else had dropped the trolling motor!" IDK im jus sayin when the chips are down im gonna take him hell or highwater you would be riskin a lot to bet on someone else on a day like that one! Yes, i know hes been beat many many times before but he jus shakes his bait a little different thananyone else. I mean there was other guys in that same little area he was in, like Aaron Martens and Scott rook that were catching fish but look at the final day's weigh-in thats what counts! There was other guys throwing the EXACT same baits and just couldnt get it done. This could go on for days on whos better whos more consistent ect ect. For example "Gary Klien" he's done it 20 years longer than KVD and still cant seem to beat him. Gary is ALWAYS in the top 10 no matter what, So why one time cant he win?? So thats why I believe KVD is BY FAR the best.

KVD is KING KONG, Skeet reese is a Banana. enough said.

At this point you just have to put KVD as #1 and then rank the guys against each other separate from him. Anyone who thinks Skeet is not near the top of a very short list of the best then you are just blind. He's the closest competition KVD has in all honesty on a consistent basis. Remember without the oddball AOY format Skeet easily would be 3 times in a row AOY.

Until Skeet Reese has done what Kevin Van Dam has accomplished thoughout his career, there is no reason to even compare the two of them.
They both compete in the same format with Bassmasters.
Skeet Reese said himself on live feed during the AOY weigh in last year. AND I QUOTE "He and I have had some good battles here the last five or six years, He fuels me. He's King Kong. He's Godzilla. He's all that."
Skeets Reese's kids are even KVD fans.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

Just want to open up the debate. Who is better and why? No one is better than Van Dam. By the time he's done he will own every record in the book.

What amazes me about KVD is his weights seem to always go up every day of a tourney when most of the feilds weight go down every day. Even the tourneys he don't win he seems to improve his weights everyday, he learns more everyday how to catch more the next day instead of burning his fish up. Thats is one thing that makes him so hard to beat.
