Well I guess our thieves are getting ready for spring fishing. They got my trolling motor and fishing gear last summer so now they come back and get my 3 brand new batteries and 2 gas tanks h_ll I don't know why they don't take the whole boat it would be easier than taking it a part at a time. Yes it was parked behind my house with the hatches chained and locked. So they cut the chain and helped their selves. So much for locks#@$$#$^#$^$

Sure hate to hear that, I cant stand a thief or a liar! Somebody helped themselves to my buddies batteries at his lake house on Palestine! He went out there to to go fishing, lowered his boat down out of the lift and went to start it, nothing happened so he opened his battery compartment and they had taken all 3 of his batteries. Darn shame, cant have anything nice anymore without worrying about someone stealing your stuff!

Sorry to hear this. Should have left a note take the whole thing next time. Maybe they will come back since it is lighter without all the stuff in it? Get a rope.

It's sad when you work for what you want and people decide to take it from you. They should slip & fall at the boat ramp.

It got so bad at the marina i was at years ago, i put a car alarm on my storage box so when the lid was raised it would go off i had a old 12v battery runnig it inside my dock box you could probably rig the same thing on your boat..It would scare the heck out of the crooks if nothing else..It had a barrel key type switch you attach the wires to break the connection, bought it at radio shack...It couldn't hurt, but a dog works good for me now..

I like the car alarm idea and the cops suggested the game camera. I have been looking for a motion sensor with an alarm to go off in the house. I told to police that if I caught these bums they better get here quick cause I have no plans of being delicate he just said they would lock up what was left. Just a shame how things have gotten now days. Button up the best you can, and hope for the best I figure it's just going to get worse.

That's a damn shame.. Bullcrappie, that alarm deal just reminded me of all the quirky things I have seen rigged up at boat slips through the years. If u spend time at slips, u know what I mean. Lots of clever, functional, and highly dangerous rednech engineering goes on at the slips. (Off topic)

A good boat (not just a car) alarm is needed and the best solution....you (and your neighbors) will be able to hear it if 1)someone just steps on the boat or 2) reaches in and opens a hatch...no one is going to wait to see what happens after the alarm siren trips. You really don't want a silent motion sensor and a game camera is not good enough quality for you to likely ever ID a stranger. http://www.boatalarm.com/index.html

http://www.boatalarm.com/index.html I agree with it being hard to ID them, and even with a digital cameras of the crimes at most convience store robbers seldom get caught..It would be my luck the crooks would steal the game cam as well ...Unfortunally alot of the time it's someone you know or have seen around. Try this...... I put up motion detectors (10. bucks at wally world) with flood lights in them that seems to deter them OR if you REALLY want to catch them red handed leave out the flood lights and screw a "plug in" in it and run a extenion cord inside to a lamp or radio by your bed, when the sensor goes off the crooks wont have any warning but you"ll know somethings up because your radio will come on it's only good if your home though. Don't do anything drastic though because I think it's illegal to "ambuse or set a trap for a thief" But it sure does feel good.. It works pretty good if there arn't a bunch of cats around setting it off. ================================================================== Your right crappie_hook you do see alot of good ideas around a docks or a fishing marina.. necessity is the mother of all invention ...
