i've watched guys below whitney cast out below the concrete wall. about half way out there, which is pretty damn far cast from the cat walk. they used a deal looked kinda like a bucktail jig but it had some kinda curly tails like a bettle spin, and they used a float about 2.5 or 3 ft above it. cast it out and kinda jerk the rod a little then reel it in some and then jerk the rod a little. they would catch one every cast for about 6 or 8 times sometimes. and was catching some up to about 7 or 8 lbs. said they caught a 15 lber one day. i tryed it. bought the 12 rod & every thing. i cant even cast out as far as they do. but my rod is too stiff i think. plus i spooled 65 lb braid on it.
