me and my son were at Buffalo sunday afternoon hoping to pick up the Crappie that would have blown onto the rocks but the wind shifted and was coming out of the west so we broke out the poles. Wierdest thing was that the wind was blowing east at about 120mph and the bobber would actually drift to the west, no kidding.
Anyway we left empty handed but the new bobbers me and sam got do great in windy conditions, they are T.G. Wagglers by Thill.
Thanks for the Temp, what kind of thermometer are you using? I want to buy an infrared gun type to make it faster but I'm not sure how well it works on a water surface.

I used my depth finder to get the temp.
I think the reason the bobber was moving the opposite direction is as the wind blows the water East on the surface the water is cycling under the surface to the West, just a hypothesis.

Sikes has a lot of 1 pound channel cats in it (and I guess some have grown) but if you fish with worms the little mudcats will drive you crazy. Over the last 10 years, I have seen lots of baby mudcat swarms in Sikes. Jerry

Ya I caught a bunch of those, about three 6" mudcats for every 1 channel!! A few bites almost took my pole in the water!!
They were biting more on the chicken breast and the fresh cut buffalo then the shrimp!!

Skunked on third bridge at Arrowhead yesterday afternoon. Not even a bite and I jigged at depths from 3 ft to 15 ft. I guess the water's not warm enough for them to move in just yet??

Ttemp at arrowhead is still 56. That was last night. Now it will be worse. I got 2 and my son got 8. If he catches more than me next time somebody is going to need to fish HIM out of the lake! Got my fingures crossed for next week. Sure would like them to turn on for spring break. Sam let me know how you do if you make it out to Shoshone park.
