Don't now what goes on behind the scenes before the tourny, but I KNOW this --- he fished boat to boat with 3-5 of the world's best anglers and flat out smoked'em...so, info or not(which it seems if he somehow received some good input, so did many others...since some of the competitors were on that spot before he got there-due to launch times) he is head and shoulders above the rest.

Go early and stay late, and learn all you can. From what I heard KVD was sick during practice. G-Man said everyone fished the area KVD fished, but no one really found the keys to catching them. Several fish were caught off that area...mostly small ones. KVD stuck an 8lber in practice in there. This is what G-Man said in his interview yesterday at the BASS BOOTH. Amazing angler!

I don't root for KVD, I'm just ready to see another pro win some. I really like the older guys like Biffle and Klein. However, its a shame bass fishing hasn't reached the popularity of the PGA or Nascar. KVD is dominating like no one has ever done in any other sport in my opinion. He should be on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Jimmy Johnson might have something to say about that.

Just have to wonder how much of these tournaments are won behind the scenes? Seems as 95% of his work is done before he even gets to the lake. Like in the early days, I would like to see the lake kept a secret till its time to fish. This way the angler could take credit for the win and not the behind the scene TEAM. the dude hadn't been on that body of water in over two years. He didn't go pre-practice before the off limits. He said that gives you a preconcieved idea and could hurt you two months later. He virtually had three days to practice and figure them out. KVD is a purist, he doesn't need info

I'm sure he gets info just like all the other pro's do but when it comes to fishing you just can't pay someone to put big fish on your hooks. That is just knowing what you are doing. He's the best in his class, no doubt about it.

Big Jake, its ok to be a hater cause that's your right. However, if you think that he is getting so much more info than all the other pros your fooling yourself. Couple of things for you to consider: There were some other outstanding anglers (I think Martens is #2 in the world and Remitz is a young "cork strong" sob) in there right next to him and he beat both of them by double digit lbs... Also, you think guys like Ike, Klein, Biffle (just to name a few) don't get as good or better information your crazy. These guys drove their boats for over 650 miles in the three days of fishing because of what they were either told or what their own game plan was.... So you tell me what you think is "behind the scenes" again....

Man, you naysayers are hilarious. "seems as 95% of his work is done before he even gets to the lake"
And you base this knowledge upon what? The greatest bass angler ever finds the same area several others do, a well known community hole by the way, fishes gunnel to gunnel with them for three straight days and catches bigger and bigger sacks each day, while those other guys faltered.
Yep, all his work was done before he got there. What an idiotic statement.

Too funny, all the chart black back 1.5 square bills are on back order or not available on a lot of major tackle shops....

He really must have paid some divers really well to make sure he caught the biggest fish for three straight days. Divers were the putting the fish on his lures and the other one didn't pay theirs well enough. Admit it he is awesome and the best angler out there.

KVD is obviously the best bass fisherman in the world. It seems like it is a pretty close nit group of guys at that level and the way KVD is dominating is starting to take a toll on him.
It's lonely at the top.......

KVD is an animal! This guy can catch them deep, shallow, in muddy or clear water. He has so much confidence in baits he throws and areas he is in. Confidence is a huge factor and add his skill, he is in his own world.
As for the 95% is done before and behind doors.
There is a lot of this done, but most anglers are doing it. Not just a couple. Internet research, paying guides, talking to locals, etc. Even with all the info they get, they still have to catch them. I could give you the hot bait, exact GPS coordinates, but that doesn't mean they're just gonna jump in the boat.

There's no doubt KVD is the best. However I would really like to see another Classic where the body of water is secret, and ANY/ALL "information" was not allowed. How tourney officals would go about keeping the location secret and eliminating info. is another story.
