Do you guys wash your hands before touching bait? mainly the people that smoke, most people that dip wash their fingers every load.

Do you think it makes a huge difference?

I smoke and i never wash my hands when fishing.. and i never catch anything LOL.
just wondering and trying to get some feedback.. i want to hear my drag ZING.

I'm not a full time smoker (3-5 cigs a day) but I haven't noticed any difference in the fishing with, or without, washing my hands. Usually the only time I make an effort to wash my hands is if I just applied sunscreen.

I have another question: do you ever take your stinky nasty butts with you when you leave? Can't you put them in a can or some container and dispose of them properly instead of throwing them on the ground or into the water? PLEASE?

i would never throw them in the water, that just seems like a really good way to get rid of the fish LOL.. i put them in an empty can and take the can to the trash... most of the time.. once in a while if its just me and the pole, ill either smash it in the dirt real good, or put it in my pocket. but only if its just one will i put it in the dirt.. i dont want to litter my bank area with butts.. unless its good lookin women butts O_o

yeah whenever im in an unknown place with no place to put them, i flick the end off and stuff it in my pocket.

but ive noticed sometiems when you are in a place that is already covered in butts its almost subconscious to put it with the others.

i remember my dad putting a screw in an old broom handle and making us pick up my moms butts from the ground.. it was such a pita.

I have wondered if it attracts crappie at times. I have watched a guy for 4-5 years that shows up at the crappie barge when nobody is catching and he starts pulling them in one after another. He chain smoke the whole time he is there.

I have been known to put copenhagen on my jigs when it is slow. I was fishing at RC a few yrs ago and wasn't catching anything, so I dipped my jig into my dip and proceeded to catch 7 keepers in a row. People around me couldn't figure out what I was doing different.

My dad used to chainsmoke just while fishing. He would use the cigarettes to burn the line and remove extra line from knots, etc., and he would pull them in one right after another. I don't think it hurts the fishing much.

My dad chewed Redman tobacco and would spit on his ghost minnows, put his spare ghost minnows in an empty pouch and one time nearly got the two of them mixed up when he went for a chew. The fish did not seem to mind and he swore by spitting on his bait.

My stepdad is a chain smoker. He's also one of the best fishermen I've ever seen. Catches fish when others aren't catching squat. I dont think it matters.

It's like that episode of King of the Hill when Hank catches all those fish with Crack he thought was some kind of special bait he was buying off a guy on the corner instead those fish liked nicotine. nuts
