49.7 on the main lake first thing in the morning. 53 way, way up Elm Creek and the Colorado. 51 at the mouth of the Colorado and Concho. Warmed up about 3 degrees by 4 in the afternoon.
way , way up elm has gotta be a jungle with the low water i would think....

That was the temp as far as you could go up Elm. You really have to watch it up the Colorado. There is a huge stump right in the middle of the river channel, just past the pump station. Of course, the pump station has some big stumps from the "keep out" bouys to all the way to the West bank. There's a huge underwater rock pile on the flat to the left as you come from the Colorado out into the main Concho channel. I went around the lake for two days doing nothing but using my side scan and down scan to find hidden obstacles that could cost me a lower unit, or worse!

There's been some fish caught way up the Concho, flipping next to the channel. No big ones, but some 2's and 3's for numbers. I talked to a guy that went up the Colorado and had a 7 and a 10. Only two bites he had all day. I fished it hard for 1/2 a day with a jig and didn't get a bite.

Sounds like an ideal place to drag a jig or worm. thumb

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

Just try to catch 5 or 6 that would weigh 13 lbs. bolt

I'll take THE one over the 5 or 6 anyday! Good luck at Amistad.

Thanks for the report Hag. I'm usually running pretty good up the Colorado when passing the pump station. Right in the middle of the channel? Yikes.

Will be dreaming about being there. I might be going up next weekend for the BASS Federation Tourney. If not, it will probably be the 12th of March. Getting work done on the boat this weekend, hopefully it will be ready by then!

I'm planning on fishing the Suddenlink as well and will be out there tomorrow with my tourny partner enjoying this fine Feb weather and looking for some bites! Like you snmcc I don't plan on putting in till mid-morn. I'll be in a black Champ. Good luck and hope to see ya on the water.
