Lake Lewisville Fishing Guide Report - 2/7/11

Matt and Dustin braved the winds last Monday on Lake Lewisville. The fishing was tough and the high winds limited the areas we could fish. We found some fish later in the trip that were finally willing to bite and made the best of the situation. Dustin had the lucky rod for the day and caught his personal best blue that weighed just over 18 lbs. Great company in the boat. Just wished the fishing would have been a bit better. Here's a pic of Dustin and his fish.

Lake Lewisville Catfish Guide Report - 2/12/11

Paul and Glen joined me for a full-day instructional trip on how to locate and catch blue cats on Lake Lewisville. Paul is lurker on this board, but hasn't signed up yet. We started out the morning graphing several areas and anchored up on some fish near deeper structure with bait showing up as well. The fish didn't stick around long and neither did we. We only had a couple of small bites and landed one from that first stop. While heading to another area we came across a massive school of shad hanging near a deep water ledge. We swung around for another look and I liked what we saw. We anchored up and enjoyed a steady bite and boated some nice fish including a double with Paul's 26 lb personal best and Glen with another that weighed about 13 lbs. We hit a few more spots, caught a few more fish through out the day. Wrapped it all up making a short drift to put the last fish in the boat.

Fresh gizzard shad and a little Dead Red Blood Spray was the bait of choice fished on Santee-cooper rigs with Team Catfish Double Action Circle hooks on the business end. Here are a few photos of the happy anglers and some really nice fish.

Lake Lewisville Catfish Guide Report - 2/13/11

Thomas, Ken, Nolan and Robert came out for a half-day blue cat trip on on Lake Lewisville. We started off hitting some of the areas we caught fish on Saturday, but they just weren't biting. We kept on moving until we found some active fish in the last half of the trip. It was a tough bite, but the guys caught some quality fish. Final count for the morning's effort was 10 eating size blues up to 10 lbs. and released 2 slot fish that weighed 13 and 16 lbs.

Fresh gizzard shad and Dead Red Blood Spray was the bait of choice fished on Santee-cooper rigs with Team Catfish Double Action Circle hooks did the trick again. Here are a few photos from their trip.

Lake Lewisville Fishing Guide Report - 2/19/11

Erik and Gill joined me Saturday for a full-day of chasing catfish in Lake Lewisville. Erik came all the way down from Boston for a medical conference in Dallas and wanted to catch some Texas Catfish. The winds were a bit strong, but the bite was steady. Gill had to leave early and missed out on the afternoon bite and some of the bigger fish of the trip. Erik landed his personal best blue that weighed right at 20 lbs and easily finished up with his 25 fish limit of blues and channel cats for the day. All fish were caught on fresh shad with Dead Red Blood Spray. Here are some pictures of yesterday's catch. All trophy blue cats over 10 lbs were released after weights and photos were taken.

I still have a few spots left for Spring Break and some weekends for March and April. Plenty of weekdays open as well. The fish are biting and this warmer weather is really kicking in the shallow water bite. You guys that fished with me last spring got to experience some exciting action. Call, PM or email me for available dates.
