This is not my post. I am a owner of a great 2005 929. I sent this because it will affect your sales in the future. The forum is a tool used by hundreds of thousands of fishermen all over the county read and look @ it.

I have had some of the same experiences from you customer service department. I am a tournament angler and enjoy my boat but if this happened to me I would be not as easy as this guy. And I understand that this may go to legal.

Just letting you know as a dedicated Nitro owner.

Chris: I wanted to let you know that I did receive your email …and I am terribly sorry about your bad experience. I am forwarding your email to Larry Whiteley, Manager of Public Relations. Larry is on vacation until Monday, Feb 14th but I will make sure he sees your email immediately upon his return. As manager, he is the one who would be your contact here. Larry is very good about responding and I am sure you will hear from him sometime next week.

Thanks!

I also heard that they modified some of what the local pros were getting and the commission rates for their sales guys. I sure don't work for Bass Pro, I do have a Nitro and did have some trailer issues on it that came from the factory. Nothing like what this thread is about. They ended up fixing the issues, but I had to voice my complaints to the correct level. The team in Grapevine were all really good and easy to work with.

Also, I am not saying this wasn't an issue in the manufacturing of the boat. But the thing that just bugs me is that this is a 3 year old boat and was already on it's third owner. Plus I assume the two prevous owners used it some. Just strange that the first week out in it and there is such a major issue that pops up after it has seemingly had no issues like that in the first 3 years of it's life. I do hope it works out, because I know if something like this happened to me I would not be happy.

I had a buddy that bought a 2 year old used Triton with a 250 Merc on it for a great price. A month in his Merc had major power head issues that were not under warranty...He spent thoussands fixing it, 6 months later a different issue popped up with the motor. 2 years later he dumped it because he was tired of putting money in the engine and not getting to use his boat. He could have almost bought a new 250 with what he put in his old one by the time all was said and done. Most Mercs work fine, that one everything broke down on it and it was more than likely how the original owner broke it in (at least that is what he was told). What do you do.

To me the lessons if you are going to buy one be the first or second owner.

I kind of thought that too...if the boat were 15 years old you would be out of luck. However, it should not fall apart after 3 years. So yes, I think they need to make a special exception.

I bought a new Tracker back in '92 and had a horrible experience with warranty issues. I think a lot was due the dealer lack of service but Tracker did nothing to resolve the issue. I did have a lawyer get involved.

After that I vowed to never own a Tracker/Nitro even if it was free.

Yes I would fish out of a canoe for KVDs check and claim it was the best fishing boat period. Unfortunately I can't fish anywhere close to him.

Man, this is an example of a company "hiding" behind the rules: "Well, it would be covered right now if the original owner had it, or even if the second owner had it, but not for the 3rd owner." What kinds of sense does that make? If it had 15 owners the first year, that doesn't affect the quality of the boat, right?

you have to watch their wording on warranty.the 2nd owner has to pay 100.00 to tranfer with in 30 days.

True, and I definately see your point. However it is put in place to also protect a company. The way they look at it is, if there are multiple owners within the time the actual warrenty is up, then maybe one of the first owners did something shady and needed to offload the boat. Therefore passing off a damaged product that would not have been covered if they tried to claim it.
