Thanks for the pics, cats...
Anyhow, found a report on Reimer's from yesterday on another site... =============================================================== He said "the water is VERY low right now. Crystal clear and you could easily case across to the dry land on the other bank. No bites, however I didn't need a lure to tell me that. You could see the bottom everywhere and the fish aren't there yet." ===============================================================
Personally, I don't think the low water is going to be a problem... Just need several more weeks of warm weather, and they should move up... Of course, a little rain wouldn't hurt to increase the flow a little...

My neighbor was up there a few days ago. He said the same thing as above from fishingfool40's post. He said: crystal clear & cold water. He thinks the whites will have no problems coming up this year. He's seen the whites in there in years past when the water was even lower. Just has to warm up a little.
I think I agree. I just hope they have some size to them this year. I'd be nice to have "yegua creek" sized sandies there.
Shut up and fish!

Any reports?
Sounds like the whites are heating up in different areas around central TX. I'll be back in town Monday and may head out there. Any reports would be nice.
Thanks.

The whites I am catching in Travis are fatter than they have been in a few years. I think the whites at Reimers will be real nice this year but why wait when you can get them in Travis now!

Could you please share a couple of Travis locations? For whites?

Not looking good for whites out at Reimers until we get a decent rain, there is an impassable sandbar downstream from the park. Pulled a couple good Crappie out of there over the weekend (lost a few more), one channel cat (barely undersized), one spotted bass, and a gaspergou. Not enough to mess with, I put them back.
Stopped by Bert and Ernies for minnows.... WOW. It was a scene from Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. Paid 3.75/dozen (borderline robbery in my book) as a 10 year old boy yelled "get in there you motherf#@%ers" as he netted my minnows from a tub around back. His mom counted my minnows individually, and would have shorted me a few if given the chance. I'm a small town guy with plenty of tolerance for rednecks.. but after that, I'm going to put in the legwork to find a place to throw my net...

I'm gonna give this place a 2nd try, are minnows the best bet for catching anything out there? I usually like using lures, but will have to find live minnows if that's working best.
Also, anyone catch anything other than white bass at Reimer's?

Hit Reimers for the first time this season on Saturday. Started at the stream coming down Climber's Canyon and hoofed it downstream from there all the way past the old road at the north end of the park.
Primarily fished roadrunners in white, chartreuse, and with a curly tail smoke glitter grub. Caught four blacks and one drum. Everyone we talked to had similar luck. One guy on a kayak said he caught a few about a mile downriver, and had a stringer to prove it, but it must have been farther than a mile based on the hike that direction and finding nothing in very shallow clear water.
It was very pretty in the evening. When I figure out how, I'll attach a photo.

Also, anyone catch anything other than white bass at Reimer's? Minnows are best only because there are NO whites in the main hole right there near the public access. You can use them to target a wider range of species if you have a fishing rookie with you like I did. Bert and Ernies has minnows, but my previous post will give you an idea about why I woulnt recommend going there.

Wanted to add more to the last post but the window would not let me scroll down...
If we get a decent rain soon, you will be able to throw pretty much anything shiny with a hook on it in there and catch whites. They are not picky when its feedin time and 500 of them are in a 1 acre hole.

I went this past weekend. Wife caught one about 6 inches and I got a catfish. The fish are not in there yet.

TFTR Was thinking about trying it down there next week, for the first time this year. But with predictions of another (weak) cold front coming in Saturday. I'll probally be waiting another couple of weeks...And sticking to the main Lake-(LT) till then... But definitely, will be hitting Reimers-(PR) hard the 1st of April. Especailly, being it's only about 15 minutes from my home.
