If they're "way overrated", then why is there a line down the road from 5 o'clock on? They must be doing something right. must be all the yankees who don't know any better.

its only about the atmosphere. go on a Saturday afternoon when tcu is playing. you will be lucky to get in. its a great place to sit out on the patio and drink a margarita in the spring and fall.

Good staple Tex Mex in Ft Worth worth mentioning
Uncle Julios, El Fenix, The Original, Pablo's, Benito's, Los Vaqueros, Juans Burrito Express, Pulidos, Tuneros, Tino's, Fiesta,Los Molecajetes,
Been to em all I can find -- each of the above has its own specialty, most are above average and some are old favorites, depends of what Tex Mex you grew up with
Joe T's waaaaay overated has been --
The Original and Benitos are greasy spoon Mexican, Benitos is less Tex Mex, but original Mexican food.
Del Norte if you are ever out Godley way -- worth the drive
Or west out on Jacksboro hwy in Azle El Paseo, best chips and salsa + great skirt steaks, don't know about the rest of the chain , but this location is worth the drive, if ya leave there hungry its your own fault !!!
Working as an Independant Landman all over the oil patch tried a bunch of em, and I am particular about my Tex-Mex

My Dad's family is from the Delicias region (south of Chihuahua City). I still have relatives there. I've fished Boquilla/Las Virgenes/Granero and the Conchos River. I was raised on real Mexican food(Chihuahua state style). I do NOT eat at ANY so-called Mexican food restaurant in Texas, EXCEPT in El Paso. Therefore, we fix all our Mexican food at home (except when we visit El Paso).
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

The thing with Joe T's is the Margarita's. Drink a couple, who cares what the food tastes like....
The patio is nice in good weather, but I only eat there with out-of-town people. This is not the place for good Tex-Mex food. I have to agree with this. It is my favorite restraunt in all of TX but I drink a few margaritas everytime I go. And let me tell you two and your drunk.

that place should have a plaque on the wall for a historical marker, not even worth it for the food. severely under-impressed
