For all you bank fishers, I would like to offer you a chance to get off the bank for a while. 3 people, 1/2 day (4-5 hours) for $150. That's $150 total, not each. So...$50 per person for a guided trip on Grapevine for sandbass. My normal rates for a half day trip with 3 people would be $250. The only catch is that you have to post in the bank fishing section. Depending on how many, if any, people are interested, I will only do this for two or three trips. That way it's easier to get 6 or 9 people broken down into 3 person groups as far as getting everyone's schedule to work out. Post here if you're interested or you can email me at Jeff@fishymemories.com or call me on my cell at (817) 319-1614. Thanks.

$50? Sweet! Couple questions. What sort of time frame would this be? As in the next few weeks, or not till May, or what? What about gear? Would we need to bring our own, or would it be provided?

Jeff, thats a GREAT offer. I thank you for all the bank bound. I haven't gotten to use those shad I bought from you. Maybe this will be my chance.. After march I intend to chase sandies more often.

Starless, this is a full fledged guided trip. I'll furnish all tackle if you don't have any or if you don't have the stuff that we should be using. I'll filet your catch at the end of the day if you want for a paltry sum of $25. Or you can just take your catch home. As far as time frame, it's whenever we can get 3 people. I will take 2 at a time also, but with 3 it's cheaper for everyone. I can do it this week or next week or whenever. We just have to get everybody's schedules together. I've had 1 email so far and I think forbidden is in. He may have been who emailed me. I'm trying to clarify that now. It's just a guided trip. Just like I would guide a one, or two person trip who just booked with me. It's one of my little ways to say "we see you" all there on the bank. Some people never get an opportunity to get off the shore and see how the other half lives. This is an opportunity. No strings.

Thanks for the reply Jeff! I'm very interested. I would especially like to take my gf along as well, $100 for the two of us is a great deal. But her schedule with work and availability is really up in the air right now, so I don't know if that will work out or not. Might just end up being me. I have plenty of tackle appropriate for sandies, but my stock of lures has dwindled over the last few years. So as long as you were providing, I'd probably just take the chance to leave my own stuff at home, or maybe just bring a pole or two if I wanted to try my own gear on some sandies. The filleting off is appreciated, I'm sure you can clean them a lot faster and more cleanly then I can. Especially if I had a lot of fish. Guess it would depend if I wanted to save the $25 bucks and clean a lot of fish myself! Most of my days are pretty open right now as I'm really just supposed to be sitting at home and resting most of the time lol, so I may be able to make it. Appreciate the unhooking offer, pretty sure I can manage that one. But I will let you take pictures of my catch if you really want lol. Just out of curiousity, what kind of numbers/size are we looking at this time of year? Not that I'd hold you to it lol. And what sort of fishing is it? Trolling hellpets or something? I'm plenty familiar with fishing sandies from the bank, but quite unfamiliar with tactics from a boat this time of year.

As a rule....I don't troll. I can't stand to do it. If there is any other way to put my clients on fish, I'll do that. If I'm fishing by myself and trolling is the absolute only way I can catch fish....I go home. That's how much I detest trolling. With that said: We'll be trolling Just kidding. Most everything right now is slabbing. We're having good luck slabbing or throwing humdingers and working the bottom looking for fish that are stacked up. If you wait another couple of weeks, there will be some topwater action. That's when it's really fun. We're starting to see some topwater activity right now, but it will be a few weeks before it gets going really good. The birds are working the lake right now too, so that makes finding them a little easier. But, they can still be found without our flying friends. As far as size, there are some good sized sandies in Grapevine. You don't have the same size as say a Cedar Creek, Ray Hubbard of Lewisville, but you can latch on to some 14-15" fish. But, you can catch lots and lots of numbers. It's not uncommon, once the spawn is over, to catch a 100 fish in a day between a couple of people. Some of those fish will be small sure. We will seek out the bigger fish as sandbass run in "like size" schools. Catch a small fish and you're likely to catch small fish in that school with the occassional big fish. The opposite is also true. Average size is probably in the 11-12" range. Not bad and a good eating size. I was just kidding about taking the fish off and filleting. I'm sure most everyone here can handle getting their own fish off and filleting the fish. Although, I will do it.....if it makes you guys happy. Keep in mind, the $50 per person offer is for a group of 3. If you would like to bring your girlfriend along, that would be awesome, but let's get a 3rd person so that it keeps the cost down for everyone.

PS. As far as tackle is concerned, I have paaaaa-lenty. I always email or call my clients prior to the trip to see what they are most comfortable using. That way, I can be prepared.

Lol, pretty anti-trolling huh? That's cool. Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about catching sandies from boats, so I'd be happy to do whatever was catching, and to learn if it's a technique that's new to me.
Slabs or topwater both sound good to me. Never caught sandies on topwater before, that definitely sounds like fun.
Whatever size the fish were, catching that many is always a lot of fun. 11-12" is definitely a good size to eat, especially with a bunch of them. I can definitely fillet them myself lol. The main reason I let fish go most of the time I catch a lot is just cause I get tired of cleaning a lot of fish. Probably get my dad to help me if he expected to some of them too lol.
Yeah, when I mentioned my gf I was thinking I'd pay the $50 for me, and the $50 for her, and then a third person would join us on the trip as well. Don't know that she'll make it though, as she's really only got a few days a week free and they seem change by week lol.

For 50 bucks you can't beat that, if I went out with my buddy in his boat right now it would cost atleast that much in gas for the truck and boat plus all the other expenses. I'lll try and get two more people together or if anyone has two and needs a third I would be interested in it.
