To add to the suspense, i talked to a friend that works at Luminants Martin Creek plant told me that Martin Creek has water rights to Lake Fork if the water level gets to low to sustain the plant! Don't quote me on this, just heard this from a knowledgable source. BTW martin is a little more than 5' low

Let Fork get low! Just allows for new vegetation to grow, and it packs all the fish in even tighter. I sympathize with those whose docks and ramps are out of water, but this will make fishing the prespawn very good. Can't wait to make it out there in mid march!

A lake I really planned on spending some time on was Ray Roberts. Is this lake hurting for water at the ramps also?
Raybob is a couple feet low but fishes better IMO when its low ... in 2007 it was close to 15' i think and fishing was good...may be what raybob needs to get out of the funk is some low water for a while IDK Currently we are at 631.22 ft above sea level or 1.28 feet under the normal 632.5. We have only been over 15 ft low once and that was in 2000. To my knowledge the only time all the ramps have been closed was when the water was high. I believe the IDB state park ramp was still open when we were at our lowest in 2000. I could be wrong here. Notable water levels 3/25/90 632.46 pretty much full pool for the first time. 5/4/90 644.58, 12.08 over pool. I remember going across the Buck Creek bridge with water over it. They only let pickups cross it, no cars. 1/5/92 638.24, 6.24 over pool 2/18/94 621.70, 10.8 low. This is when the big hydrilla bed started by Wolf Island. 10/13/00 615.33, 17.17 low. This killed pretty much all vegetation in the lake. 11/29/06 624.08, 8.42 low. The lowest it has been since the record low in 2000. 7/3/07 640.97, 8.47 above. Lake came up about 9ft in 16 days killing all the vegetation again. All ramps were closed for a while. We have had fairly stable water levels for a few years now some 3ft or so fluctuation and are now getting quite a bit of grass again.

If it wasn't for providing potable water for Dallas, Fork wouldn't exist.
We had a place at Rayburn in the late 80's-early 90's, and I can tell you 6-8' level fluctuations during the year were common then. I was on the lake the day (about Dec 23, 87 or 88) it hit it's record low level, which was more than 15' low. They pull water from Rayburn to make electricity, and people complained about that, too. But if it wasn't for electrical generation, there wouldn't be a Rayburn.

Billy are you sure when you built your dock you didn't punch a hole in the bottom of the lake and thats where all the water has been going...Seems like the time line is right? Just sayin...

I guess that is an excuse for certain people in Highland park to use from almost $6000 to $15,000 worth of water per month keeping their lawns picture perfect. These amounts and the peoples names was in the DMN a couple of years ago.

Here is where to check lake levels. http://wiid.twdb.state.tx.us/ims/resinfo/BushButton/lakeStatus.aspSome of the ponds here in western OK are gone. Combination of blame according to some on rigs pulling water and drought. If El Nino predictions are right winters be colder and summers hotter and dryer for next few years. Something we don't need. The east coast has pretty filled up it's reservoirs over last few years but we are hurting now. I planned a few trips to TX fishing this spring but now I better check with you guys before I head down. A lake I really planned on spending some time on was Ray Roberts. Is this lake hurting for water at the ramps also?
