I fish on my buddy's 09 z7 all the time. Works just fine. Nothing fancy came with it when he bought it. He fixed that by getting HDS units and better batteries etc. Biggest problem he's had is getting gel coat redone several times.

my brother has a z8 and i have a 21'6" gambler they both do 80-81 mph the z8 handles rough water the same as any other 20 footer and is very dry unbelievable hullshot with a big deck and it will basically be 10-12,000.00$ cheaper than most any other boats rigged the same way no problem with stress cracks and the little things that go wrong with a new boat it hasent mattered what it was the boat was in and out of the shop fast and with a scheduled appointment basically without paying anything buying a boat from basspro came with great customer service and great deals in the store and great contengency money. that was not so true with my gambler i got the worst customer service had to wait 3 more weeks than what they said to get my boat back the first time and the second their was not and third time and never will be there also had to pay for stuff and ask for stuff that he had taken off to be put back on it that should have been free and fast. No contengency money and a 50% off discount in the store of 250.00$ or less one time and i spent a heck of a lot more on my gambler buying a nitro from bass pro has opened my eyes to what good customer service is

Great running boat. Real 80 mph boats are pretty rare. Good job.

This is an interesting thread as I am early in the stages of buying my first boat. Already know that I will buy used rather than new, but I have to ask.....what is it about Nitros that make them lose so much value at resale?

I have a 2000 882 150efi. It is the first boat I have owned in 10 years. Great little boat. I have been on fork when nasty weather hit and it handled well. plenty of storage and very fishable. trailers suck, but I think they have improved them since that year. Its a great first owner boat, but my next will be a skeeter or ranger. nothing wrong with the boat, just looking to improve resale and fit and finish.

It's what I could afford at the time. I think the Nitro's of old are like a taurus. Lots of them out there , good performers, but not big on the resale value. overall, it's sturdy, well built, and designed to give the average man that can't afford a 60k boat a solid fishing platform. That also translates to the current ones. if you want the latest and greatest in electronics and gadgets, it's going to cost you. they are available, but at a price.

I have an 08 Z-9 and I love it. It's an amazing boat, and more storage than you would ever need. It's a massive boat that will run fast. Also huge gas tank, and huge deck. I think its one of the best boats on the market. Also a very dry ride in my opinion.
