is anyone catching them at mesquite, seems like a bunch of nothing coming up from what i hear but its close to me, and is close enough i might get the ball and chain to come along. still have a glimmer of hope she'll like fishing

Took the boys to Kidd Springs for an hour this PM. We were throwing Super Dupers and Panther Martins. Caught one, swing and a miss on another. Saw a guy with a bucket full, think he was fishing bait. Beautiful evening though.

Where is Prosper?

went to ablon park in garland today for an hour...not too many people there...very windy. no bites at all...saw some commorants.

Prospe is the town north of frisco

Bite is still on in Prosper. Limited out using Powerbait, did get one on a fly too. Saw others hooking up; looks like Corn, Marshmallows, and Powerbait were working.

Also, modified a hook using a ballpoint pen spring that allowed flycasting Powerbait without losing the bait. Posted pictures on our Weblog. Today's Pictures

Hey Fshng84....I joined this forum a couple of weeks ago and have been watching it and your blog. When I saw your post I realized I met you today out at Prosper. I was the guy you talked to by the car when you were leaving. You showed me your pen rig. Nice to put a face with the blog. btw...I ended up limiting on those marshmallows. Too bad this weather isn't going to hold.

A buddy and I had been testing out different ways to keep Powerbait on our hooks in order to flycast with it. The pen rig today seemed to work the best. We have since been calling it a "Powerbait Hook". So far, Powerbait and Bread have stayed on the hook; believe Marshmallows will too.

Glad you got a limit in before the weather changes. Will play the week by ear for now.
