We will be going by boat from rabbit cove sat morning & have had boats follow in the past, rabbit cove is the cove at the back ramp of anchor inn & may be their only usable ramp right now. Does anyone know if the front ramp by the office is usable?
It is about a 5 minute boat ride but about 45 minutes by road to state park. If you leave out of rabbit cove just stay in the center until you are a good ways into the main lake before you head south, there is a really shallow sand bar on the south point of rabbit cove. There is also a shallow point heading into the state park area so stay in the middle of waco bay when you turn in from the main lake. It's definitely better if you get a chance to mark a trail Fri.

the guides are still using the front ramp by the office at anchor inn and the back ramp by the boat docks was used a lot this past weekend
anyfishwilldo is giving sage advice about the sandbar on your right as you leave rabbit cove- better know where that is if you are headed to the state park before daylight

Yep, last year while prefishing friday we marked a trail on the GPS from Anchor Inn to the State Park. Headed out Saturday morning following that trail. had a convoy to the state park! way easier than driving over by land to the state park.

The ramp by the office is usable but if you have a low sitting trailer you will drag. But would use the rabbit cove ramp. I will have it sanded if it's not already by now.

Thanks Cloy, was hoping you would chime in, figured you would know.
Off topic, but are you'll catching any crappie over there? They have not moved into our slips directly across from you as of last weekend but we are normally catching some hogs by now, we still have 6-10 feet in our slips so ther is plenty of water.
Thanks,
Don

nope- I jigged the docks last weekend and could only catch a couple of green trash fish (one was close to 4 lbs and a lot of fun on my ultralite) 9.8' under my boat

Also a heads up for those running to the State park on the water, be careful when you get close to going into the cove towards the boat ramp, there is a big tree that is out kinda towards the middle of the water. Make sure you have a spot light or know where the tree is.

i know this will not be popular but here goes......i think this event should be postponed! the worst winter weather in 15 years, wind chills below zero, fresh powder....it's a recipe for disaster IMO!!!!!!!! i would hate to see someone die over a sport that we all enjoy so much! just my .02

Hell I'm just dreading pulling the boat to the lake from Denton. Once I get there I think I'll be fine. Gonna be a looong haul if I have to go 20-30 mph.

I know they have canceled bass champs at cedar creek this sat, got an email from them around 11:00 (yeah I'm on the email list ), they had already sent that it was going to be a delayed start but now is postponed until July. I will fish if it's on but do believe we will need a delayed start.
Chase you fishing? I need to get some 3oz weights next time I see you.

Eric, we can fish in mine just don't have much of a livewell but the way the fishing has been may not need it smile. My boat is in the slip with a full tank of gas, glad I pulled it out last weekend & filled it. & you ain't gonna hurt my feelings if you don't want to make the drive.
