I get minnows at fisherman's supply off of 30 but was wondering if there was any others around?Their prices seem a bit high.

There used to be a convenience store at Rowlett Road and Centerville that sold them. Try going to the "Bankfishing" section on this forum and ask your question on the Rowlett Road thread. Some of the marinas might sell them. Good luck

Is that on the duck creek end(south) or the firewheel end(north)? rowlett rd. ends before it reaches centerville.

My bad, I'm getting old and my memory just ain't what it used to be and it never was that good to begin with. I believe it's Miller and Rowlette.

I went to fishermans supply once and they were really rude. And they also had a half dead 5 lb bass in a little fishtank. It was weird.

Fishermans Supply in Garland on I-30 has always been good to me. I would pay a little more just for the good service. They are always very helpful and have good bait.

Fishermans supply has always been hit or miss with me. I've had good service and rude service also. The prices are a bit on the high end but there is no where else that will have their selection in the area.

Fisherman's Supply is under (very) recent new ownership. I think if you give them another opportunity to earn your business, you will be pleasantly surprised. As far as pricing on minnows, they may seem a little pricey by the dozen, but buying 1/4 lb and above I think they are a very reasonable value. They also now carry the little Rosie Red minnows and if you want to get some bait for your buck, get a 1/4 lb of those little guys. They're only about an inch long, but the Crappie will flat wear them out and you get what seems like about 10 dozen or more in a 1/4 lb.

I recently fished these tipped on a double jig setup and they would take those tiny red minnows in preference over a live shad 10" above on the other jig - shad being the exact same size those crappies bellys were full of when i cleaned them.

I've been going to Fisherman's Supply for over 30 years, and it just about broke my heart to see Gary get pushed out of there 4 years ago. I have very high hopes for the current new owners to make a real big success of it and get that place back towards what it once was.

For those not familiar with them, they are in Garland on the I30 east bound service road between Bobtown and Zion Rd. I'd encourage everyone to at least stop by and give them one shot - I don't think you'll be disappointed. thumb
