I was at pines last week and when I returned to the ramp some idiot stole my boat light plug-in that attaches to the truck. Some people will steal anything. +1 and they also took my license plate

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Diane and I were on that parking lot placing entry forms on windshields about 2 pm and did not see anything suspicious. I would have liked to walk up on them in progress. Had a winch and spare stolen off RR one time. Thieves are becoming fearless these days.

Today, me and my partner were on Fork looking at different areas. We launched at the public 515 ramp just north of LFM.We come back to the ramp, he pulls me out of the water and ask how did I get grease on my boat trailer fenders. Turns out some Jacka**** stole two of my bearing buddies off the right side. You could see where they pried on my center cap to get them off. It's not like I live down the road. I had to get back to Shreveport. Had to stop at Wal-Mart in Mineola and put new ones on and of course buy a hammer, grease, and grease gun. I wish I could have caught them in the act. It would have been all over. I've often thought that a good part time gig for a retired old timer would be to sit at the entrance to a ramp with a shotgun, and tell everyone as they came in he would make sure no one stole anything for say $5 for the day.

That sounds like a good idea,but the cops would confiscate your shotgun and say you were barnishing a weapon in public.
I don't see why someone doesn't set up video surveillance on boat ramp parking lots.Record everything going on in the parking lot for that day.Someone reports something stolen then check the video.

The scumbags don't necessarily have to steal your equipment to create problems. A number of years ago someone came into the boat ramp area near Lewisville and loosened the lug nuts on a number of boat trailer tires. I lost my tire and one of my friends had his trailer go off the highway .. But it didn't roll. People that do this type of stuff should have their "lug nuts" adjusted.

Just curious on your bearing buddies being stolen.
Seems to me that if they were stolen at the ramp then you would not get enough speed to sling grease on your fenders unless you drive really fast in the parking lot.
If they were stolen somewhere else and you drove to the lake then that would explain the grease being slung all over your fenders. Or could it be probable that you hit or drug your wheels up against something and knocked them off on the way to the lake.
But I doubt very seriously that driving in the parking lot of the public boat ramp would sling grease all over your fenders. Just my opinion.

Cowards is all they are. I don't believe for a minute some of these things are financial, Nor do I think its out of work people. I'm starting to believe that some people are just a$$holes who do things because they can.
