Ive been looking for a cat fishing boat and I came across a year 2000, 22 foot bluewave boat w/a Yamaha 150. The engine appears to be a v-max. Does anyone know if these boats were made with any wood in the year 2000? Any opinions on this make/boat would be appreciated. As always, thank you in advance.

I have a 2001 22 ft blue wave, yes I do believe they have wood. you can contact the plant in OK. The people up there are great. I have had the 19 and the 22.
Great boat , IMHO ,
Witht the 150 , you won't win any races , but you will get there. I have 200 Yami on mine.
I've never had a problem with the hull. only a couple of fuel related problems with the motor
good luck Mo

Can't answer your question, but I like the Bluewaves. I have a 95 super T with a 115 Honda 4 stroke., great catfish, crappie boat. Only thing I would change is no tunnel, not needed on the lake. I know lots of people that own Bluewaves and all are happy with them. They seem to provide a dry ride and take rough water very well. I've been caught in some bad weather that produced some nasty waves, felt safe and did not get to beatup. Hope this helps some. Jim

Blue Waves are hard to beat whether they have wood or not. Ive been told the customer service is excellent! 22 ft boat has alot of room to move and the 150 Yamaha is a very good motor. My old 22 ft boat would run about 45 mph with the 150 Yamaha.

I've got a 05 V-Bay 180 and was told it does have some wood in the transom. Wood or not, they're great boats.

Wood has been used to make boats since pre-history what's the concern as long as you take care to make sure the wood avoids constant contact with water. BTW I have a Kenner VX with an optimax 115 and really can't be more pleased except for lack of storage, of course my wife says it's because I have too much stuff, go figure!
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

If I didn't get my Mako, I would have got a Kenner or Bluewave, all good afordable boats to me. Just got home from the San Antonio Boat and RV show, lot of really nice Bluewaves there.

It looks like I may have a shot at getting a 2003 Sea Pro SV2100 with a Merc 135 Optimax on for a good deal. I spoke with the salesman today and he said the motor only has 35 hours on it! The boat looks really clean. Any opinions on the Sea Pro boats? As always, thank you in advance.

I've got a chance to pick up a 1999 Blue wave 189 TS with a 115 Yammy. Guy will let it go for $6500. Haven't seen it in person, just pictures, but seems to be in really good shape. What do you guys think as a catfish rig?
