Good deal, give us a report on what you come up with. From what i heard they stocked Palos Verdes with some Crappie awhile back, so they should be in there. Are you going to try over there by those trees in the water? If you do let us know how it went.

Where you coming from?

I'll give you standard directions.

From 635 go East on 30, you will exit Northwest HWY. When you get to the light at NW HWY make a right. Thier will be a Fina and Jack in Box on the right. Go down i say about 1/2 mile or so maybe a tad longer. and as you start to come down the hill slow down. You will need to turn right on a street called Olympia. From there you cant miss it.

If you have a GPS and need cords i have posted them on another page of this thread.

I stopped at City Lake Park one day last year, and saw some large carp at the surface on the east end. Too bad I was rigged for bass. :p

Mid summer you can put on some crappie jigs and throw them towards the middle near the water fountain and catch bass, after bass, after bass!!
They did stock it last year or the year before, with some keeper size cats, i know i saw elbow to elbow fisherman trying to get a mess for dinner. Everyone had some keepers.

There are two old farm ponds off of Pioneer & Bruton in Mesquite at the Baseball complex. Can't think of the park's name at this moment, but those two tanks produce some nice fish.

I grew up in Mesquite and have fished that lake many times. Caught good crappie and some big bass. Can always catch catfish, but they are usually small mud cats, still a tug on the line though.

Are you thinking of Valley Creek or Hodges Park? I didnt know thier were fish in any of those. I know TPWD doesnt stock them so it would have to be citizens that stock it.

Of course its not Bruton anymore from 635 east into Creek Crossing its Cartwright. It freaked me out when i went to vist my parents and it wasnt Bruton anymore.

There's no fish in them ponds off pioneer. Stay away bad water, no fish. NA just kiddin ! There are some huge bass in there. I had one straighten the hook on a rattle trap one time. I caught about a 8 pounder on a flyrod, with an 1/8 ounce spinnerbait. Caught some cat's in the dead of winter on chicken liver on the dam end.

This is my first post here...great site! I actually work in mesquite and would love to hit these lakes/ponds. I gotta ask....how'z the eating out of these ponds. I live right by White Rock Lake, but I never fish it because I wouldn't eat a darn thing from that lake.

Great site...keep it up.
