The title says it all, Angler of the year, not top 12 at the end of the year. Sounds like a bowl system to me. More TV money. I applaud the new group for their efforts.

I like the All Star head to head format, and the fact that they are going back to the old AOY format. I agree that they should extend the season back to 11 events. However I think it would be cool to have the 11th tourney take the top 20-25 anglers in the AOY standings for 2 days to an undisclosed location. It would be like their club championship.

Sounds like an awesome revision, glad to have the correct AOY format back in place. The addition of the head to head events are especially cool with the fan involvement, Mr. McKinnis is on the right track!

I agree with Brant king. i see them extending the season to 11 as well I hope Brant is right, they need too. Thing is *$$$$$* thats what dropped the number of events. Maybe with the new ownership that could rekindle some new and old sponsorship

Ouch!!! AOY goes from $250k back to $100k, I guess times are tough all over. Times are tough but I'm not sure that the deal is any lighter? Don't know the workings of the deal but I'd bet those other funds are still part of the remaining purse and spread to the post season playoff.

100,000 for AOY and 100,000 for the playoff winner as well. I love the head to head match ups. I think you will see an expanded Elite Series next year. The anglers want more tournaments. This year was already scheduled so they had to make the best of what they could with it. I also think you will see them go away from Alabama for a while if they have any post season because it's just getting old fishing the same water at the same time.

I also think you will see them go away from Alabama for a while if they have any post season because it's just getting old fishing the same water at the same time. Not if Alabama has anything to do with it. Alabama pays and Alabma turns out in real numbers to support bass fishing. Kinda like bowl games Tom. They go where the money is...

If he is good enough he'll pocket $200K total and probably get more exposure, winning AOY & the Allstars. Pretty prestigious if that can be done.
