no sandies before the lake opened but there have been crappie in that creek as long as i can remember. i used to go back there in the late 70's/early 80's and catch barndoors from the bank. We also used to hunt squirrel, dove, quail, and rabbit back there. It has changed quite a bit in 20 years noidea

Went to 661 creek, water still cream. Headed to State Park marina,... had the barge all by myself. Fished for an hour with out a tug. That is my report for today.

The pressure was way to high on Friday. I went out with minners for a little bit on Friday evening when the pressure got down to 30.29 but got skunked as I expected I would.
Saturday night I spent bank fishing for blues at lewisville with my son. We got skunked there too because the wind was wrong from our camping spot, but the main point of the trip was to spend an evening fishing with the boy and he had a great time throwing rocks at seagulls.
Sunday would have a been a great day with pressures down in 29.7 area but we had a family get together going on and the closest I got to fishing was helping my FIL install a new wind shield on his Ranger.
Our dryer broke over the weekend and since the clothes were piling up I decided to do the wife (who had to work MLK day while me and the kiddos were off) a good turn and take them all to the laundry mat so that's what me and the kids did instead of going fishing. Hopefully that will pay off in brownie points that I can used toward future fishing trips...

I call the winter crappie run over until the spawn starts.
I spent about two hours and managed only 3 tiny dinks on sunday. Ended up going trout fishing and limited in 20 minutes so I went out on the boat and hit the deep humps and managed 17 keepers in about an hour.
They've gone deep. Sandies will be up the creeks soon tho.

Didn't make it down to 661 (though I wanted to) hit 360 instead on Sat. About 3-4 trucks were there at about 1:30ish. I fished East of the bridge for about an hour or so hitting about 3-4 juicy looking pieces of structure till I made my way to the sharp bend in the creek. Used an electric chicken jig about 2' below a slip bobber. No luck. Water looked good about 18-24" of visibility and the current wasn't running. That's the nice thing about crappie, if ain't on...they let you know in a hurry. Don't know how the minnow dunkers were doing...this JP creek thing is new to me so I'm still learning how to fish them. In channel, against bank structure (etc.) if you have any pointers...I'm a good listener popcorn

661 creek has too much water in already! It has risen up and I can't find any of the structure I fish since they are under water now.

Stopped by there the other day for an hr and caught 5 big momma slabs up to 16in. All full of eggs...
