Mr. Song, what are you thoughts on a big Jigging and popping tournament in Venice?
John, I am not a tournament guy because I don't want to compete with other fishermen. However, I saw a jigging and popping tournament is generating lots of interest in Cape Cod and Panama. The reason I ask, is because we were thinking about putting together a big event down in Venice to promote the sport. Something so big that we would take over the entire town (marina) for a week! Mostly to help bring Venice Fishing back to life. It's just something we're thinking about right now, but I think it would be good for the sport and for all of Venice.

When Midnight Lumps produced big tuna in winter, it got national attention and charter business was booming. Fishemen follow fish. You have to sacrifies yourself a lot to organize such a big tournament in terms of money and time.
